Been seeing mixed reactions on here but honestly, what do you think about Veronica "Ronnie" Mitchell, especially after that baby drama stuff?

I like Ronnie and although she did steal a baby, she didn't mean to and only did it because hers had died. Now that has cleared up, people still think she's a child snatcher but I doubt she is now.

I will always love Ronnie and she can snatch as many babies as she wants
She is one of the few autonomous female characters in EE who does not aim to please.

Love her - one of EE's finest ever characters. Incredibly complex and fascinating to watch!

Niether option. I don't think she's changed but I don't hate her either - she's a flawed, interesting character. One minute I can hate her guts and the next really feel for her. Sam Womack is a good actress, I think a lot of my like for the character is down to her tbh.

Feelings are mixed, I liked her arrival episodes but I just feel like she been forgiven to easily and accepted back into the square, no questions asked, I dunno I just haven't enjoyed her stint as much this time round, it's her attitude, her arrogance towards Alfie (rightly or wrongly) her trying to manipulate and control Roxy again, its just off putting.

Maybe once they get past that and she given a storyline of her own that isn't to do with babies, her sister or past dramas then she could start to flourish again.

Good post, summed it up far better than me.

I love the character as she's interesting and played by a great actress but Ronnie herself is a child stealing piece of crap! Don't buy any of the many excuses people come out with to defend her either what she did was unforgivable

She is a mentally disturbed child kidnapper. It turns my stomach when I see her go anywhere near children.

I think Sam's a great actress but not a big fan of Ronnie, I'd have prefered it if she never returned and for Roxy to have kept her promise about going to Ibiza when Ronnie came out.

Unforgivable? The person in the US who recently shot a 7 month old baby in the head and murdered them did an unforgivable thing, not Ronnie. She didn't intend to harm or keep the baby.

She should be locked away, she snatches a mans son and then has the nerve to warn him about dating her sister and try to intimidate him, what a creep.

Excellent comments. At least there is one other person on here with a social conscience.

Why the need to compare to a more heinous crime? And yes what Ronnie did was unforgivable - she let two parents believe there child was dead ffs! Imagine if someone did that you. Apart from actually killing tommy what Ronnie did was probably the worst thing you can do to someone.

I like Ronnie . Her crimes are water under the bridge .

Let's not forget she was mentally unwell at the time .

I wouldn't call her an evil person .

The important thing to remember is that she is a bit sexy

Well something this serious is always going to make Kat/Alfie have some feelings of anger toward Ronnie, but not intense boiling anger so they can't even bear to be in the same room as her. Kat already forgave her even about 2 years ago in court, so it can't be as unforgivable as you say.

Kidnapping a child, and replacing it for a dead baby making the parents think their child is dead, allow them to grieve for that child when their child is in fact alive. Then the first precious months of that baby's life is spent with someone who is not their parents, is disgusting. Ronnie should not be allowed back on the Square.

I still think that excuse is BS. I could accept it if she had taken Tommy and then lived her life as if he was James but as soon as got home she knew what she done but still went along with it. I think there was a moment of mental insanity when she took him but everyday that she stoned the wall it just made her look like a heartless b*tch, imo. She's a psychopath.

No one in real life would of forgave her never mind living in the same street as her and having her near the child she kidnapped! Not that she would ever of been allowed to be there of course or released as early as she was. I don't buy that Kat would of forgiven her either but it's just something we have to accept in a soap. Highly unrealistic though

Agree with the two above posts. I really can't fathom why people go out of their way to defend characters like Ronnie. You are allowed to like a fictional character even if they are morally questionable. You can find a character
interesting and invest emotionally in their stories, doesn't mean you'd be bezzie mates if they lived next door.

Not a permanent psychopath though .

You can have a one off episode of Psychosis . It's quite common .

It actually happened to me 4 years ago

I stand by my comment that she is not an evil woman .

The fact is the TPTB want everyone to forget that storyline as it wasn't just a shambles start to finish and place the once decent character of Ronnie in a position, no wants a character to be and it put this soap in a slow decline because of the controversy it cause,d it left them to frighten to do anything imaginative with the soap for nearly two years which is what left this past year in its former predicament of being so boring and dull to watch.

When I say quite common, what I mean is more common than you might think .

I'm obviously not saying psychosis is an everyday event

I'm sorry to hear that.

That's fine you've got to stand for something or you'll fall for anything & difference makes this world a beautiful and interesting place but I stand by my comment too.
