Hi guys and gals.

Not got the total hang of this board yet, so haven't managed to find out how to search to see if a thread regarding Holby City exists -apologies if it has.

Anyone else like me who needs their weekly Tuesday fix of Connie, Zubin and Co from down Bristol way ? It seriously is the only show where I will not answer any calls/texts etc.

I would be interested in a particular aspect of this show. Namely, having only started watching it religiously about the time it went from an 18-20 part series to an all year round soap (about 3 to 4 years ago I guess) - how has it changed? Has quality been maintained, are characters less rounded for example ?

Oh, and favourite character - just has to be Connie - what a woman !

I love Holby but the storline with Ric, Zubin, Sean and Jess is really begining to irritate me. its going on too long. Sean is such a wuss.. He should have belted Ric last night.

That's a good criticism - the show does have a tendancy to drag out storylines - usually when 2 characters are umming and ahhing about getting together. They did it with Rosie and Mubbs to the point where I was screaming at the TV set !

It's best point is being able to tug at the old heartstrings. When Maggie lost her battle against cancer a few weeks back,it took me 20 minutes to recover.

Totally love Holby City, but they should have never got rid of Alex Adams (definate eye candy) and I wish they would bring back Anton Meyer. Have been catching up on UK Gold on the old one's that i did not see, and I have to say Anton was fantastic.

I know that was so sad.
But it was done in such a good way.
Amanda Mealing who plays Connie Beauchamp, certain aspects of that storyline she must have found really hard to do. Bless her.

Connie is my favourite, without a doubt.

I can see what your getting at.
A lot of people liked Anton, myself included. But then I also liked Tom as well.
But all programs need a change.

Connie has just taken Holby to a whole new level I feel.

I think both the actors playing Alex Adams and Anton Meyer chose to leave though - all that could be done would be to offer them a lot of money to return!

I like the character of Connie.

The Zubin-Jess-Sean triangle is becoming boring now. Zubin will have to find out soon.
Connie is my favourite character. Am getting bored of Owen. Surely there's only so many affairs, marriages, divorces and babies one man can have?! What's going on with Lisa? She goes missing from weeks, then is back for one and talking about going away on two weeks holiday!!

Definitely agree Connie is by far the best character. And she has been developed very well. To start with she was just rather cold. Now we've seen a softer side too and the harder side of her is, I think, a bit more refined (for want of a better word).
