I don't see what's so shocking about somebody who can't dance being eliminated from a dance competition.

Disgraceful. Ben's routine had much more difficulty, so even with the mistakes he should've been saved. Mark doesn't dance, he merely plods across the dance floor. He's been in the DO so many times -- clearly, he is not popular with the public. Reminds me of Lisa Snowden, another unpopular contestant which the judges saved time after time.
Ben had potential -- he was a little unlucky to get a dance which did not really suit him this week. I'm going to miss his lovely smile (and his muscles). |

But he wasn't tonight. Kristina will insist on putting those intricate lifts in. Iveta's been the sensible one.

It seems some people equate 'energetic' as automatically being better, no matter what.
It was the right decision. |

Kristina is very unpopular on this forum. As someone who doesn't post here much that does surprise me because always thought she's a lovely girl.

Bens best week. But he did make a lot of mistakes in the dance off, more than Mark. Had he not made those mistakes or if Mark had made more, Ben would have been saved. Dancing wise they are pretty comparable really, so not really a shocking decision.

What? Lifting and walking? That's what most of Ben's part of the dance was. He danced far less than Mark this week.

How could they save Ben? His timing was atrocious and appeared to forget every other step he was supposed to do.

Iveta is the former world champ so in that respect is probably better at that kind of thing than Kristina who just goes for lifts and no clothes as a strategy.

Its difficult for a wooden prop to actually make a mistake unless late availability counts.

I think Ben is a nice bloke (they've all been likeable this season, in my opinion) but I've wanted to see him go for weeks. I think he should have gone before Fiona to be honest!
If he weren't fit then people wouldn't be so outraged. He did very, very little actual dancing over the weeks - just lifts. What he did do, really wasn't very good. Whereas Mark actually did some good footwork. His injuries hamper his polish and energy, but his timing is better. I think Mark should probably go next week - but personally I think that sending Ben home first was the right decision. |

But surely it's a good result because next week if he's in the dance off again, a good dancer won't get thrown out.
I like Ben and would have preferred him to stay, but at least while Mark is still there (and not doing that well in the voting...), the likes of Sophie, Abbey and Ashley should be safe in the DO. But if they lose out to Mark, then yes that will be a shocking. |

Did the judges not give Mark one more point on the live show so in their opinion Mark was better? That made it easier for them to save Mark anyway. As it turned out Ben made more mistakes so they an extra reason to save him. Perhaps they expected Ben and Mark to be in the dance off so that without the mistakes they probably would have saved Mark anyway.

Poor dancer voted out in favour of another poor dancer shocker!
I'm quite glad Ben went. I've wanted Mark to go for weeks, but I thought he did more dancing than Ben this week, and his dancing was of better quality. Either way it was hardly a travesty, I don't think there was much between them... its just that a lot of people fancy one of them! |

No Mark did not dance, he has never danced since the beginning of the competition, he cannot dance. He walks around in a robotic motion. He may be entertaining to some, popular with others but a dancer he is not, nor if he was here for 50 weeks, ever will be.
He didn't walk, he just lumbered around like hippo out of water. Talentless, boring, useless! |

I like Ben. But he did not impress the judges and people did not vote for him enough to keep him out of the dance off. I'd like him to stay longer, but it was going to be this or the next week.

Agreed. If Mark had gone this week Ben would have gone next week......all that has happened is the order is different. In the grand scheme of things it really does not matter.
I happen to agree with the judge's decision, based on the DO, But as they both are by some margin poorer dancers than all the remaining celebs, it is only a matter of one more week, whichever had been saved Unless Mark escapes the DO altogether next week - that really would be unfair on one of the remaining couples. |

I'm not surprised Ben has been eliminated - he's done the same dance since week 1! Mark will be gone next week - all the remaining dancers are really strong and there is no way that in the dance off the judges will pick him over any of the remaining contestants.

But Mark, whilst not the best dancer, generally does much more dance content than Ben. They are comparable in technique, but have different strengths and weaknesses. But Mark has much better timing and rhythm. It was the right decision. |

Yes, that'd be SHOCKING (and will never happen, unless they totally fall apart) Not Ben going out to Mark. This reaction doesn't surprise me, but does make me sad.
