Are the judges basing their decision on who they eliminate on that nights Dance off or on previous weeks performances as they need to be consistent before next week.

the judges eliminate on whatever they feel like doing as far as I can see

some weeks it's purely on who dances better in the dance off
other weeks it's who has the most potential for the next show

usually Craig is wheeled out on ITT to say it's on the best do, but it isnt always

It's on the dance off, Bed was best on the live show, Ben made more mistakes on the results show, Craig voted incorrectly maybe for wrong reasons.

Judging by tonight the judges eliminate depending on how full of **** they are.

That would be interesting if there are basing it on the Dance off they could end up with one of the top Dancers going if they make a mistake and Mark makes none next week.

Oh for ..@& what are they thinking? Do they think viewers want to look at Mark on a Saturday instead of Ben? There are no cute celebs now. Spoil sports. I imagine Mark is already signed up for live shows. Rubbish

I really don't think Craig was judging based on just the dances tonight - I think his vote to save Ben came purely down to the number of dance-offs each celeb had had.

No, that wouldn't happen. The result would mysteriously change to being who is the overall better dancer/has best potential for improvement, rather than who danced the DO the best.

It's whatever suits them on the night. I thought the stated aim of the dance off was to guard against 'popular' dancers being eliminated at the expense of those who are technically 'better' because 'it's a dance competition'.

Personally, I couldn't have cared less about tonight's result. I think Mark has reached his limit in terms of improvement trajectory and Ben could have done better if he'd been willing to work harder, but wasn't.

After Mark leaves next week the competition will become closer.

Either that or how distracted he's been by Ben's torso

I think they had already set a precedent for that. Bruno even more so. He keeps falling off his stool.

One of my objections to the DO is the feeling that the judges, consciously or otherwise, don't necessarily consider only the DO performance.

I believe on occasions, the correct technical term is called, "a whim."

Or flim-flam or whimsy, whatever is going on in their brains as they watch the DO.

He is. And so is Ben.

In theory, there's no point in having a dance off at all if the elimination is based on previous performances, or future potential. I suppose it's main purpose is to provide a safety net if they think the GBP got it wrong.

No point in the dance off if they don't base their decision on it!

If Natalie was in the DO with Mark and she fell on her face for all her routeen would she still get saved?! Obviously she would.

They vote on best dancing and who has potential.

Ben was never going to win and would most likely be bottom of the score chart next week if Mark had gone.

Depends on whether your fave was eliminated or not

What's the point in dancing again then?

Calling it a dance competition is a misnomer. Mark should have been first out if it was in fact a competition. Entertainment possibly, a vehicle for furtherance of a career definitely , a ratings winner for the BBC , for sure.

They each go along with what the producers tell them.
