It restarted ok but I decided to just leave it on cyanogenmod even though I hate it.
I worked out that the memory card issue wasn't that it couldn't read it but for some reason it's not picking up the ringtones, saying they're the wrong file-type. I have them as WMA and MP3 but the phone still won't use them - which audio files does cyanogenmod recognise? If you want to go back to Samsung firmware, I'd be surprised if you couldn't find 4.2.2 or 4.3. You can always uninstall some of the Samsung guff once rooted as has been stated before. Plenty of ROM videos online to "see before you try". If you just wanted root, CF-Root was the easiest way. Whatever you do next, plan and research it first before diving in. Incidentally, why did you want to root in the first place? That'll help folk here determine the best solution, which I'm sure you end up on soon enough. |

And I did! Finally managed to get the Samsung firmware (ended up being 4.3) back on it and it's running faster, smoother and more intuitively than Cyanogenmod which I'm happy to say I will never touch again with a ****ty stick

Used Odin to get it on my phone, worked fine. |

OK I hope I'm not too late here but I've just found out that doing all the above changed the IMEI number on my phone, Calls, texts and mobile web don't work on it and it's costing me £15 to get it put right. I don't know if it's because of the firmware on sammobile that did it (when I installed it and it loaded up for the first time it had everything in German and I had to change the language to English) but just in case I'd advise people to steer clear of that site.

did you read my post about the EFS?
it seems you dived in with inadequate research. cf-root as I said should be your first step, start slow. |

All fine now, I'm £15 lighter but the IMEI is sorted and the phone works as normal again
