Finally Eastenders is turning a corner in 2005 and with so many changes the soap will hardly be recognisable by the end of the year. Here are some of the confirmed and rumoured changes for you to discuss:

New storylines:

MARCH 05: The Sonia/Martin fight for Chloe saga.
When Chloe's adoptive parents are killed in a car crash Sonia and Martin become entangled in a fight to adopt Chloe over her adoptive grandparents. Chloe, born in 2001, is now 4 years old.

MARCH 05: Departure of the Ferreira clan
March in Walford will see the long awaited exit of the Ferreiras. It has been speculated that they leave upon news of their Dads death in India.

MARCH 2005: The Johnny, Tina and Ruby story
Charlotte Avery and Louisa Lytton are to join the soap in March as Johnny's girlfriend Tina, and daughter Ruby. Ruby doesn't know that Tina is her mother, so expect fireworks when she finds out!

APRIL 2005: Chrissie/Amanda: Just friends or lovers?
A rumoured storyline would see temporary addition Amanda (Chissie's solicitor) return to the soap full time as Chrissie's friend or lesbian lover. It is believed producers have already signed up Amanda for another six months after she was a hit with the viewers.

Barbara Windsor (Peggy Mitchell) June 2005

Gillian Taylforth (Kathy) September 2005
Letitia Dean (Sharon Watts) July 2005
Steve McFadden (Phill Mitchell) September 2005

Departing characters:

Confirmed:
Leslie Grantham (Dan Watts) 18th February 2005
Michael Higgs (Andy Hunter) 18th February 2005
The Ferreira Family: March 2005
Joseph Kpobie (Juley Smith) March 2005

Unconfirmed:
Michelle Ryan (Zoe Slater) November 2005
Kim Medcalf (Sam Mitchell) September 2005
Ian Lavender (Derek Harkinson) June 2005
Perry Fenwick (Billy Mitchell) September 2005

New characters:

Charlotte Avery (Tina) Johnny's girlfriend
Louisa Lytton (Ruby) Johnny's daughter

She could be good though, and that would be an interesting storyline if her and Chrissie got it on, Chrissie could be outed as bisexual, woohoo! lol

That could never happen. I'm pretty certain that the family of the adoptive parents would get custody of Chloe.
Sonia and Martin would have signed away any rights whatsoever for Chloe.
After Sonia 'stole' Chloe as well, theres not a court in the land who would give them custody over her grandparents.

... assuming she has grandparents, that they want to have custody and that they are capable of looking after a child.

Perry Fenwick recently signed a new £400,000 deal to stay with EE for another 2 years, so he wont go until late 2006 at the earliest.

Imagine this...

Someone gets on a bus/car and goes to work outside of Albert Square Then they purchase a washing machine from a store that we've all heard of, say Currys!!

The Chrissie/Amanda plot sounds like it has lots of potential. Chrissie is such an excellent character.

They do their weekly shop at Tesco or Sainsburys and not the Minute Mart

I have a problem with the minute Mart, I belive it was part of chain of similar stores, and assumed the branding logos & stuff were part of copyright, so why are Patrick & Yoladnie still calling it the Mintue Mart, if they own the place now, surly that would be illegal

They've probably taken over that branch if it is a part of a chain then it still will be!

Perry Fenwick isn't leaving.

I thought that it was that she didn't know that Tina was her dad's girlfriend?

Actually Jonny's daughter doesn't know her Dad has a new girlfriend........not mother!

The Chrissie and Amanda storyline is ONLY A RUMOUR! I mean how can she be a hit with the viewers if she has only been in two episodes?

And Billy isn't leaving.........

And Ross Kemp returning was only a rumour! Apart from that everything there is slightly correct

I don't think that it's part of a chain anymore - weren't they trying to think of a new name before paul's death?

Apologies for any mistakes made guys, looks like my attempt to summarise all the changes we would be seeing failed somewhat

I'd like to point out though that I did say Perry Fenwick and Gillian Talyforth's comebacks were unconfirmed! And I musta got the wrong idea about the Johnny/Tina/Ruby storyline.

Hope its some use!!
