The people who would appreciate an act like Hannah probably don't watch the X Factor…….and even if they do they probably don't vote.

The trend of winners supports this I think…….genuine authentic soul singers don't win.

Agreed. People week after week on here said she was 'shouting'. No idea what they were talking about. Hannah sings from deep down, you can hear it in every note, every inflection. She was wasted on an ignorant audience.

I'm a 100% soul music fan and have been since I was about 12 years old. I don't listen to any other sort of music and spend a ridiculous amount of weekends at soul all dayers and weekenders - I don' think Hannah is very good so not sure how I fit into your theory.

Real soul singers sing from the heart and soul, Hannah shouts and has no control over her voice. I adore Etta James and I love that song but I thought Hannah murdered it

I am not a soul fan really, and I connected with her from the start.

Bland pop music generally does better on these shows. A good pop song is going to appeal to a wider audience, thats just the way it is, doesnt mean somebody with a good soul voice cant use the show to go on and have success though.

Spot on. Maybe that's why the viewing figures are going down. People switching off because they've had enough of the best singers being voted off and Cowell thinking he's now too big for X factor in the UK.

An animalistic tone almost. Not for me thanks. Yuck.

I think it's more that they don't vote. I liked her, but I don't vote.

I enjoy soul, found her shouty.

Didn't think she did a good job of a difficult song last night at all

Her voice is NOT THAT good. She has a limited range, a hideous tone, and all she does is shout and growl.

^^This!

I'm a huge soul fan. Grew up listening to motown music as a kid and moved on to soul/ rnb music so the OPs comments are totally invalid.

Hannah doesn't sing, she shouts her way through the big notes. She has virtually no power and no range or control over her voice. She has been losing her voice due to shouting! Listen to any old school soul singer and the difference is massive!

People also disliked her, got bored of the sob story and tears each week....

Im sorry, but it really was shouty and growly... You claim its from the heart or whatever, but thats a cop out.

She could barely sing wrecking ball, and has an EXTREMELY limited range.

It's called the X-Factor. That certain magical something that certain people have. Hannah has no X-Factor whatsoever, which is why people don't like her. Charisma is part of having the X-Factor, she has none of that either. If it was all about the voice then she went on the wrong show.

I love the tone of her voice and those low low notes she hits. Sad to see her go.

Great comment. Soul is not only about passion but charisma and a distinctive yet captivating voice - Modern singers like Amy Winehouse comes to mind.

The people who don't watch X Factor are probably glad they've not been faced with the frog eyed shouter!

Hannah was the only one who had that magic for me this year. But I like deep rich contralto voices. I know she could be shouty at times and she had a few bad habits. But she still had more soul than the rest of the acts put together.

I like Sam Cooke, Paul Robeson, Stevie Wonder, Nina Simone and lots of other supercool singers, and Hannah's simply an awful shouty, flat, tone-deaf caricature of a soul singer, IMO. People who think she's a real soul singer must have awful taste or judgment. So ya boo sucks to your theory!

Whilst I liked her voice at times I felt some of the song choices were appalling - The Stones for soul voice was a - joke - why not a Winehouse number or even Pet Clark?

That being said she shouldn't have been bottom 2 this week - Tamera should have been there with Rough Copy.

I liked Hannah as a singer but was put off completely by her sob story. It didn't help that her styling on the show was jaw-droppingly awful and aged her by at least 20 year, either.

I think it's a shame she's gone though. There are still others I'd boot off before her, like Nicholas and Luke.

She will become one of the greats. A wonderful soulful expressive singer with a huge amount of charisma on stage and off. Looking forward to the album.
