My telly mag says this is a new series on BBC1. But is it just new to them.? My wife says she thinks she's seen it before on one of the digital channels.
BBC1 has the first run rights to the show but it's also shown on Alibi. It's probable that your wife may have seen the repeats of the first two seasons on that channel

Thanks for that, yes she says she did.

Now I'm getting character confusion in Aussie daytime drama. Chief Supt Munro is played by the same actor as the doctor (Jack) in A Place to Call Home. As the period is similar, he looks the same too.

I noticed that, I was tired of the previous superintendent not appreciating Dr. Blake's help and was trying to get him fired.
Now the new one is even worse.
Is it really necessary for the plots?

So unimaginative.

Still, "A Place to Call Home," can't be far behind now.

Just found this today, not bad for an afternoon easy watching show. What is the background of Chris' widow and the young cop and lady friend that seem to all be around the Dr when he is not at a murder scene.
Thanks

The new boss is spoiling this, not necessary to the plot to have such a character, the murder plots are good enough to make the show thoroughly enjoyable

To paraphrase Oscar Wilde "To lose one police chief without explanation may be regarded as a misfortune; to lose two looks like carelessness"

I thought he looked familiar and then it dawned on me where I had seen him before. I like this and Craig McLachlan but find his whispering, growly voice annoying at times.

Not only that, Sara Wiseman who plays Carolyn Bligh, Jack's lover in A Place To Call Home was also in one of this weeks episodes playing Olivia Goldsmith!

She's also Jack's wife in real life as well.

A Place to Call Home just finished its third run on Australian telly, so hopefully it should make its way to our screens soon.

BBC website says early 2016 so hopefully next month. I wonder if they'll repeat S1 and S2 first though with the new ending for S2!

Thank you for that. I hadn't realised that they were married in real life!

He has still got the Henry twinkle though. Very nice older gent, but has made me feel very old. My children were very young when Neighbours first started here. Just sitting here having a quiet sob!

They've just finished filming series 4.
If it follows the usual timeline. It will broadcast in Australia in Feb/March and here Nov/Dec.

Father Brown is already advertisng series 4 on amazon (10 episodes) for a 21 March so it should go out as usual in January.

No news on The Coroner which has to film between April and June or on WPC 56 which looks to have been canceled.

That would be a shame

Just thought I'd mention that a fifth series was commissioned earlier this year and filming started in August

In Australia, ratings for TV dramas have taken quite a hit, but Doctor Blake was a solid performer and is probably Australia's most popular drama at the moment.

I hope they make more series. Like Father Brown, it's an easy watch and Craig is amazing in it.
