I suppose the most important question is how many police chiefs he get through in this series

I've been looking at my programme planner and see that the Dr Blake Mysteries that they start showing on Monday are a repeat of the series they showed at the beginning of this year.

It looks like we're going to have a bit longer for the new series.

In that case it's my Tivo that's not correct then. According to the date of broadcast it says that it was shown at the beginning of the year.

No doubt Virgin will correct this sooner or later. In the meantime I'll have to manually set up to record the upcoming episodes as my series link for newly broadcast progammes only won't do this.

So there's going to be at least two police chiefs in this season which is about par for the course

I'm not enjoying this series. I don't like Mattie and Mathew getting axed, and Jean, Charlie, and Alice being underused in the first two episodes. We're also barely getting any Julian and Jean scenes.

The new Chief seems interesting and so does Matthew's niece, but nothing else is working. It feels claustrophobic and the female characters are getting sidelined too much. It a big disappointment so far.

Geoff Paine who played Dr Clive Gibbons in the early days of 'Neighbours' was in today's episode.

The reason Matthew left might be because Joel Tobeck who played him got a role in the second season of US show Ash vs Evil Dead.

I'm more concerned with the loss of Mattie tbh.

So Lawson has definitely left then? That's disappointing. Not keen on Rose (so far), she's rather annoying and doesn't really add much.

According to IMDB he doesn't appear in any more episodes this series but I suppose it's not impossible that he could appear in some of Season 5 but as a civilian

Damian Richardson (Gary Canning) and Kaiya Jones (Sophie Ramsay) were Thursday's Neighbours actors past and present.

I thought it was a bit of a slow start at the beginning of the week but wow!... it has sure picked up now I feel with Lucians wife turning up just as he was about to propose to Jean.......I loved it!.... The only thing I am a bit confused with!, and, I did watch all of the last series but it seems to me there is a secret between Lucian and Jean!, did they go off somewhere together at the end of the last series?.... It seemed as if there was something going on but I don't remember anything that intimate at the end of the last series!..... Can anyone enlighten me please?..

Again we agree, I think there was something between them can't remember for sure. Someone out there must have a better memory than us.
