So Hannah came sixth place.

Usually a sixth place contestant doesn't get signed.

But Ella Henderson who came sixth last year has been signed to Sony and will be releasing her debut material in the new year. Maria Lawson who came 8th was also signed to a major label, but that didn't end too well.

Will Hannah be like Ella, get a major recording contract? Or will she end up like most sixth placed contestants, and not be signed and be forgotten about by the end of the series?

I'd forgotten about her already, in fact, I don't appreciate being reminded of the ordeal of having to watch and listen to her for the last few weeks.

A recording contract? I hope not, the very sound of her harsh shouting and growling would make me change station should I be listening to a radio, it's abuse upon one's ears.

Good question? She might get signed but I would take her directly to USA because if she gets snapped up there, I think she might do well...or least do well in their R+B charts.
The truth is: not many people will buy her music here especially the kind of singer she is, which is why I suggested America for her - probably still won't work but in my opinion it may actually be a better option for her

I agree with you, as far away from these shores as possible.

She can share a cabin with her mate on the way across, as Bailey will be cruising that way too. She's just not getting off the boat.

I can't see Simon signing her considering he would have picked miss dynamix over her in the sing off means that he doesn't have much faith in her

but I can see her being signed by a rival record company it has happened before

I take it YOU love her vocals then

Soul isn't my bag generally, but overwhelming voices are and Hannah has one of those. I'd expect things to work out well for any sympathetic operation that did sign her - she divides opinion pretty sharply but that doesn't do sales much harm at all, vague liking and utter loathing are fairly equivalent in their effects. I'm guessing there'll be a label or two that wants to work with her, and if by any chance there isn't the crowd-funding model which is working for a generous handful of other X Factor alumni - another sixth placed finisher, Craig Colton, is among the most recent - might be the way to produce the first of what I trust will be many albums.

It's that Twinkle of yours that finally made me realise the love and passion you have for her

Although she has a great voice she has little vocal technique and needs to learn that. Her best bet is to get some proper training & then think about a career. It was clear that she was doing more & more damage to her vocal chords - look how many times she was on voice rest with just having to learn two or three two minute songs a week. She can't become a proper performer until she sorts that out.

I don't think her odds of success are all that good, but I bet someone's going to think they're good enough to take a shot.

Curious what happens to Luke if he's out next as well.

genuine question

given her style of music is a lot more popular in the US wont there be a much bigger pool of people doing that style of music therefore it would be harder for her to standout ?

I'm fully aware of the talent pool over there (a lot more) as I have links in that neck of the woods so I know the situation very well. But Hannah is still young and since she has been through the process, she stands a decent chance given the right material. It will be tough for her but I think it is better for her to go there than stay here IMO

I totally get where you are coming from & yes you are correct in what you have said. A currently inactive DS member that was a big fan of Hannah, kindly introduced me to a Soul based internet radio station at the start of the competition as he / she wanted me to see the soulful side of Hannah. I gave the station a listen to for a small period of time as it isn't a genre that I would normally listen to. I am sorry to say that a lot of the artists on the station were very similar to each other but they had a lot more talent in them than what Hannah currently has.

Anyhow I googled some of these Soul artists that I had heard & found that they were signed to basic labels & only getting airplay on this internet Soul station. The majority of them hadn't even sold enough CD's / downloads to gain a billboard position either. So yes chances are Hannah will get signed, but it is highly unlikely you will hear her material on any popular radio station.

I honestly can't see it happening. I mean, if you have money to invest in these kinds of ventures I think there are safer options ou there. Hannah never really made much of an impact on the show or built a fanbase large enough to warrant that kind of investment. So, no, I don't see it happening.

At least she's tried to do something with her life, got up there and given her all. I thought she was very promising. Had a few issues with her voice but the raw talent was there.

Her team have just announced she's working on a a cover of 'Rolling In The Deep'.

Oh, crossed wires,

They say she's working, preparing a sausage roll in deep fried batter.

Back to the day job then....

I thought so. He has very similar taste to mine in the R+B and Soul area. I agreed with your posts but what I'm saying is because Hannah had some exposure in the media so she MIGHT get some deal - she'll never enter the pop charts because of the songs that her vocals are suited to. I listen to some soul stations in the USA and know a lot of stuff there. I'm a frequent listener of Solar Radio BTW
