1 Easy fillers that cost every little - but I agree with you - utterly pointless and, worse, totally amateurish.

2 How could you be so cruel to the 'wonderful, wonderful orchestra and the wonder, wonderful singers'? Mind you, what you say is absolutely correct. Too often the music has no relation to the dance, the dancers or even the steps.

3 Usually out of time? Wrong! They are always out of time. Have you ever noticed that often less than half of the audience are 'clapping' although the sound suggests that there is a full house of demented clapping. Do they use a clap track? Almost as bad as laughter tracks.

I can't believe how this thread has taken off ! I obviously hit a raw nerve
And as some of you naughty people have completely ignored the remit of my opening post by posting three points then sneaking back later and having another go ( )...
if you can't beat 'em, join 'em,

So here's another one from me.

It really gets on my tits how certain pros never get a 'contender' to dance with, thus giving them a greatly reduced chance of ever lifting the glitterball.

Anton, Kristina and Aliona; my memory may be playing tricks but have any of these three ever had a partner who was an odds-on cert to be one of the final two?

1. The camera spinning around the dancers - a real pet hate of mine. Makes me feel ill.

2. Illogical marking from 3 of the judges.

3. the VT fillers ('Here's what they did in training'). But I guess this is to give time for the props to be cleared and a new set put in position. East remedy - get rid of the props.

Aliona had Matt Baker.

It's equally annoying that Artem always gets someone good.

Damn! I knew someone would prove me wrong

I'm going to return the favour and say Artem had Fern Brittain last year.

Brendan has never had a fuller figured lady celebrity.

At least Artem had Fern as a partner.

Didn't Aliona win with Harry Judd?

Inappropriate music

Celebs being marked down for poor choreography from prof

Drunken cameramen who stagger and swirl around the floor.

It is about generating movement with the camera when little is forthcoming from the dancers. The whirling cameraman's speed is inversely proportional to the proficiency of the dancers.

That's what I hate about most about amateur youtubes. The camera should stay still or zoom or pan very slowly if at all and sparingly at that.

But I see that the producers are justified in creating fake action when none exists.

At least we stuck to the three things bit!

Even if/when it makes the viewers feel sick?

Instead, can we not learn something we didn't know about the celebs? Ben is a massive case in point - the man who set up a charity after his dad was murdered. And why are they using the VTs to airbrush certain contestants' achievements out of the picture? Natalie wins an award - and yet we see nothing of it.

I'd actually been thinking that they're very slightly better this year. Ballet classes and scuba diving I can almost cope with, at least it's not those awful badly conceived/acted/filmed comedy sketches of the last couple of years. Remember Holly being "rescued" from sitting under a tree in the park by Brendan in a plastic suit of armour? Strictly's nadir that was.

Mine are:

1. Favouritism of certain celebrities by the judges
2. Bruce hogging the limelight
3. No ITT during the week following the final

Good point! Much as Zoe irritates me I'd love more ITT to properly end the show

I know we should only be listing 3 things which irritate us about Strictly, but please may I add a 4th?

I forgot to mention certain judges fawning over celebrity dancers who they obviously find attractive.

Loving this thread

1. Bruce and everything Tess wears

2. The pretence that the Sunday show is live (even on ITT when they talk about the dance off 'yesterday')

3. The dodgy camera work

Aliona had Matt Baker who was a ringer & Harry Judd who was always going to win.

Kristina had Jason didn't he make the final ?

Anton's his own worst enemy

Yes they did, finishing in 3rd place.

1. Definitely the incorrect music. The tango works so much better to classic tango music...
2. The audience's forced reaction, standing ovation for every couple, even the bad ones...
3. Sunday results show
4. The vts before the couple dances. They weren't so bad when they just showed the training, but now more often than not, they're filled with drivel
5. Last but not least, Bruce and his stupid stories and jokes

Sorry, I couldn't contain it to 3

Aliona won with Harry 2 years ago.

At the risk of being ungallant... he had Fern Britton for a partner.

I think we've established now that Aliona had a couple of very good partners.

I got it wrong.

Don't rub it in

In no particular order:

Brucie

Too much interference from the production team (awful music, outfits, characterisation of a dance etc).

Too many poor camera angles that detract from the viewing experience.

Two serieses ago was the nadir of the VTs - I have vivid memories of Jason in a fake Mexican moustache out of a meal to get into 'character' for the paso. They were a bit better last year - Halloweon and quite really dodgy ones involving Vincent (the speed dating one was particularly awful) excluded - and have been much better this year.
