Itunes have removed there "Indie/Alternative chart"

I had a look on the store today online and via the mobile app and they have removed the Alternative music chart and replaced it with Christmas.

I am disgusted the way these large companies are trying to tuck away any reference to indie bands despite great bands on the scene like Bastille, Mumford and Sons, The 1975 these companies want to hide them.

No they haven'tit's still there, but with Bastille taking 7 of the top 12 places it doesn't exactly show much variety!

Probably because Indie is crap and what is considered alternative isn't exactly alternative.

The "indie" scene isnt even indie anymore. It's been polluted with a load of vile, commercial, faux-indie garbage. These days any old blert with an acoustic guitar and capo, think they are Ed bleeding Sheeran realising they can make a quick buck.

IE the complete opposite of what indie should be.

Those genre charts meant something when you couldn't just buy every track from the album individually, now it is just dominated by a handfull of the most popular bands of the moment. For example, Bastille, Imagine Dragons and Arctic Monkeys.

It certainly doesn't help people find new music!

I thought Indie became a safe way for music companies to label music they couldn't label anything else some time ago.

Personally, I would like to see more black women in the rock section but probably isn't going to happen.

Thats why it doesn't work.

Is there any ways to complain to itunes about it?

I've still got an alternative chart (although 6 of the top 10 are Bastille).

Too tell you the truth I don't like a lot of Indie bands nowadays, there boring and all middle class. The thing is I can hear one indie band today and the one the next just sounds the same.As for alternative good in the 90's very dry and soiled now but I still like the Foo Fighters,Manics and QOTSA.I think what rock music need now is boot up the backside again, something good Punk/Garage kids forget NME and buy Viva La Rock instead.

That utterly horrific Bastille song currently flying high in the charts much to my disbelief, does the Indie music scene no favours whatsoever. Appalling
