I wasn't bothered about the 'plot', but it was worth it for me just to see David Tennant, Matt Smith and John Hurt working together and I thought they were all brilliant.

(As usual, Clara ruined it for me - she's such a cocky little bint - never phased or scared of anything).

You and me both RK it didnt live up to the hype at all and was powered along by one weak ass script. But David Tennant was his usual wonderful, beautiful and funny self and i nearly had an 'inappropriate' accident when Peter Capaldi made his 2 second cameo. So that made the episode not terrible.

DT was the best thing about it

I struggled to keep up with the plot and that's why Mr 80's Jnr and I stopped watching DW in the first place - the plots got way too complicated when the new Director and MS took over

Agreed. Some of CE/DT's stories weren't always highly intelligent, but they were always exciting and the characters were easy to relate to.

The newer series are far too complicated, and the companions are far too at ease with space and time travel. The show is just in love with itself now.

DT and Rose were my favourites, though I really liked CE before him too, shame he only lasted one season. The plot was seriously over my head, just way too complicated in every way. Don't like MS at all, Clara seems ok, but as Onj says, nothing phases or scares her. She's meant to be a normal human (I think?), yet nothing bothers her, she just stays cool as a cucumber when faced with some hideous monster. Bet she'd tell a Dalek to sit then take it out on a collar and lead, like a metal lapdog
