Brendan was fed up of all the "dirty filthy" rumbas. I really liked the purity of Sophie's rumba.

What dirty filthy rumbas?

Can't think of any dirty filthy rumbas. Were they in Brendans imagination?

The problem with Rumbas on Strictly is that they are normally self-conscious and cringeworthy and lack the necessary dirt. Brendan and Sophie lacked any sort of chemistry and, although I sympathise with him over the fact that the judges rarely have a good word for Sophie, I think he was annoyed that the judges pointed out the crucial flaw in their partnership - lack of connection.

Cherie Lunghi's Rhumba was quite dirty ... but that was some time ago.

Rumbas should not be dirty - they should be romantic danced with the right rumba action on strictly that rarely happens

That wasn't dirty. It was sensual and very elegant.

Still can't think of any filthy rumbas.

Brendan's a hypocrite - his with Claire King was far from chaste, and he revelled in the faux outrage that produced from the judges.

The Jordans did one which was called "porn" by some.

The problem with the judges is that they have a very narrow, unsubtle idea of what rhumba should be like. A far as Sophie is concerned, they just don't get her but should at least acknowledge how well she dances. She is getting '8's whilst dancers who are no better are getting '9's.

Brendan Cole and Claire King had to change their routine on the Saturday rehearsal because it was deemed too raunchy.

Kara and Artem - now that was a rhumba. Not a sleazy moment, just pure passion and longing.

I also remember that rumba, Craig's comment on their performance was so funny I thought that was great.

I remember Alesha and Mattew's rumba was passionate but wasn't dirty. More like heart breaking and sad Rumba doesn't have to be dirty, although I like a bit of filth in it...

Feel sorry for a man who thinks that passion = dirty/filthy.
Feel sorrier for his partner.

Looking at the professional male's part on the basis that he was achieving Rumba perfection this is one dance that I would refuse to do - and I'm not a prude and quite comfortable with a very close embrace dance with a stranger I have never spoken with.

In an SCD Rumba the male seems to play an androgynous part. Not what I would regard as sensual, sexy or romantic.

There is no way I am going to ponce and preen about like that in a sequinned vest. Compare that with an everyday Bachata like these.

I have yet to see anything like a "dirty" Rumba, but maybe I don't know what sensual, sexy or romantic.represent?

And the first two are quite tame I thought Henry. But I love this dance. I mostly only dance it with my OH and when we do it really feels like we are one person, I can feel that he plans to change direction (front to back from side to side) three steps before he does. I don't know quite how, I must pick up the intention from his energy or tension or something. But it is magical to be so in tune with another human being that you hardly know we you stop and they begin, (Such a pity it isn't like that in the more domestic aspects of our lives - usually more havoc than harmony!)

Giles and Cheryl's rumba when they ended up on the ground...

However he does demonstrate how a man can dance the rumba and not look poncy something many of the male pros haven't even achieved.
