I dont use Netflix, but my wife uses it all the time. Just looked in on her and the picture is good quality, but stuttering and juddering. Earlier (around 7.30 or so) it wasnt.

She says this happens most evenings between 9 and 11.

I just checked our internet speed and it is 44Mb, we're on Plusnet unlimited so its not likely to be that.

Does Netflix struggle when there is peak time demand?

I have never noticed any slow down at peak times on Infinity and I use Netflix quite a lot.

I haven't noticed any drop in quality once the program gets going. Perhaps your broadband provider are throttling you in the evening.

If it's stuttering and juddering then I'd be more inclined to look towards your broadband or equipment.

Been happening to me as of late. I watch it on the Apple TV and have fibre optic broadband from Tallk Talk. It just seems to do this around peak times for em as well. I know some will say its the equipment but obviously I am able to watch my other streaming equipment (Youview and NOW tv) fine.

Thats the thing. If throttling were going on, Id be having issues with I player as well, but thats fine. The speed test I did while Netflix was stuttering came back as normal, 44mb.
I take on board that it could be equipment, but if it were, wouldnt it be all the time, and not just between 9 and 11pm. Watch any other time, and its ok.

I think your issues may be ISP related. I'm with Talktalk and cannot access the Netflix website at peak times despite Talktalk saying they don't traffic manage. Other websites work fine. Now this may sound like a Netflix issue but I can assure you it isn't because I then tether my laptop to my mobile and Netflix works instantly.

I can confirm its not Netflix as I use Sky BB (ADSL) my connection is a consistent 8-9mb and streams Netflix on a number of devices at Super HD day and night with no issues whatsoever.

Fine here at any time of day and I only got 10Mb/s. that sounds strange only 10Mb/s. Not so long ago that would have been superfast.

anyway, Netflix works fine here.

I just want to add, I hadn't done the most recent update on my Apple TV until a couple days ago and now it all seems to be working fine and none of that buffering so it must be that that has corrected it and it seems to be working quite well now.
