I haven't clicked on the link yet (I will do in a sec) but I'd just like to say, I agree with her.

She is spot on. Totally agree with her.

(Edit: but I do wonder when she mentioned Max in that interview and he wouldn't have the women chasing him because he has kids if she was really meaning because he's not exactly a hunk and she just didn't like to say that? After all plenty of women go after men who they know have kids. Or is that me just being mean because I personally wouldn't fancy him )

She is correct! the storylines we had were next to nothing during 2013, I remember Hollyoaks having more in 3 months than EastEnders had in 2 years!

Agree with most of what she said, however in some cases the acting is also to blame.
Overall she makes a lot of good points, lol at the comment about Max

I agree with her completely. However, while people don't like the fact she was axed I think it was the only way. Her character was a complete waste of her talent and I don't think there was a way to change that realistically, tying her to Max made sure of that. I bet DTC would have loved to cast her himself with a better character in mind but he can't so it was best to let her go.

At least the cast seem to know the problem. Lets hope DTC can make it what it was. Its going in the right direction now, lets hope they keep it up.

You know, I think that's what she did mean, but didn't want to say that as it would appear nasty and shallow. I've always found Max's playboy ways to be hilarious and not grounded in any kind of reality, so I'm glad a cast member pointed that out too. And no, I wouldn't say you're being mean.

And I agree with everything she says though - the storylines are the main problem. Sort the storylines and you will see a spike in quality. I imagine that's what DTC was in brought for.

No, no, you're not being mean. You could understand one woman going after him - kids be damned - but EVERY woman he meets going after a married man with kids is a bit pushed, especially seeing as he doesn't exactly look like Brad Pitt*.

*I'm a fan of Jake Wood's arse, so I have very little taste in men and have no clue who the New Hot Bod on Campus is.

The viewing figures are quite healthy again, and well up on what they were a few months ago!
The show itself is pretty good as well at the moment!!

I'd say Max is far more desirable than Jack, who was often portrayed as the resident Square beefcake.

Everything she is saying is correct.

I'm still very bitter that she has been axed.

Can't say I disagree with a single word she's said. In fact, she's pretty much summed up everything I feel about the current state of the show very succinctly.

She is a good actress but didn't have anything to do during her year. It seems strange that her potential was never challenged but I do agree with her comments the storylines were awful for her.

If anyone has seen her in the Martina Cole dramas on Sky One, then everyone would know what an absolute brilliant actress she is. But unfortunately Eastenders weren't able to give her the kind of storylines that she needed and probably wanted.

In the end, she became even more clingy than Tanya....
And I really don't understand the producers obsession to continue to have Max as a ladies man....
He does have charisma, but he isn't handsome, or have a great body, so why him?
Also it isn't even if he treats all his girlfriends/conquests/wives very well is it?

Well, she can hardly slag off the show while she's still there can she? Not very professional.

Kierston actually criticised the direction of Kirsty while she was still under contract. She's made comments about finding the Max obsession hard to believe in a previous interview. I completely agree with everything she's said in this latest interview. It's the same stuff most of us have been posting about for a long time. I don't think Kierston was ever convinced by the writing for her character or the direction of her storylines and it came across on screen. You can't always spin yarn into gold no matter what some people think. The material was awful and there was nothing in it that anyone could make compelling drama out of.

Oh, and she's bang on the money about Max. I'm disappointed the new producer insists on keeping this spent character at the forefont of the show. At the very least he shouldn't be put in a relationship ever again as it ruins all the women he's put with. He's a slag so let him have as many one night stands as he wants to keep him busy. No need to ruin yet another female character for the sake of such a repetitive and dull male character.
