I really shouldn't respond but I always did like the last word. I find your post extremely patronising

How dare you presume you know what is best for others to like. I hope you don't have children yet and by the time you do you have grown out of this nonsensical approach to culture.

I like ALL types of music Jazz, MT, classical, blues and pop.

I also get tired of the *this is manufactured music for kids * arguments. I know loads of adults both online and irl and they who like their music hence why the huge numbers bought this week both here and in the USA

They may have started off three albums ago aimed at the tweenies but believe me this new album is much more mature. I don't suppose you could give it a fair listen then come back with constructive criticism about manufactured pop!

One Direction look set for the No.1 album spot this week selling over 115,000 copies of Midnight Memories in the 1st day. Gary Barlow at 2.

Brilliant. I bought the album as well so that should help the figures.

Their music's not to everyone's taste but it is to other people!

You should find my post patronizing as that's exactly how it was intended to come across. You simply can't not be patronizing to someone who seems to genuinely like One Direction.

It's sweet that adults can enjoy One Direction. It's even sweeter when you find those who fight with such passion to defend, what is of course, the indefensible. I think it's the hopelessness that's so enchanting.

I like the idea of Manafactured Pop and constructive criticism too That's a genius concept. A bit like giving constructive criticsm on the Third Reich. I'd like to hear more on that

For the record I have 7 kids and everyone of them is named after members of The Wu Tang Clan. My youngest, Old Dirty Bastard, is with me now with his eyes glued open and his face sellotaped to a TV screen showing footage of Radiohead at Glastonbury. You have to bring them up knowing wrong from right

I actually can't believe that a discussion about some pop music act would lead to this kind of reply.
She might be passionate, but you are just as passionate about trashing said act, and then moved on to the person herself.

I am sure that you are pretty proud of yourself to have written this... I don't think you should because I find it really insulting (just as it was meant, it's pretty obvious, you don't need to state your thought process).
People are all different I guess...

Come on, it's true. And like I said, it wasn't meant as an insult so there's no need to get annoyed or anything. It's not even limited to 1D - the "selling dog poo" thing could be true for any artist who's primary fanbase is young girls.

****ing hell. Ha ha ha ha ha. I think I'm gonna need a bigger rod. It doesn't suprise me you can't differentiate between piss taking and passion being a 1D fan and all

This forum is amazing.

That's exactly what I meant, I suppose passionate wasn't the right expression indeed. I just don't take the piss at people on a music forum (or anywhere really, but I have noticed that people are the worse offenders online). it's kind of like insulting them, and I just don't see the need to do that, especially on a topic as unimportant as music tastes... Though to be fair, I think it's the smugness of the post that really ticked me off compared to other similar contents.
Like I said, people are different.

Case closed ladies and gentleman. No further questions needed. Music tastes are the ONLY way to judge people. If you like 1D everything else about you will only ever be a footnote. It's like have having a criminal record

That really is no way to refer to the deceased former Heavyweight Champion of the World. I am The Master of Disaster, The King of Sting, The Dancing Destroyer, The Prince of Punch, and The Count of Monte Fisto

LOL! This was actually somewhat funny (probably because I have stopped taking you seriously), despite the fact that I think you might just be trying to further this useless conversation (since it's so off topic) and maybe escalate it even...
I'll go back to my footnote status and leave you in your judge throne to pass judgement on everyone, since you seem to have self appointed yourself as this type of figure
I'll even go as far as to wish you a nice day!

But it is. The sky is blue, the grass is green.
