Your user guide or instructions should give you the means of trying to tune manually to COM7 which is on RF Channel 33 on Crystal Palace.

Hi guys..

does anyone know if a change in freeview boxes will help me pick up the additional freeview hd channels that I cant ?

I am served by Tacolnesten and I use a sagemcom box - despite the coverage checker saying I should be getting the full line up of HD channels I only get the standard 6 ?

My friend 9 miles north of me on the same transmitter gets the full line up on his TV and also via youview

Put your postcode in the form on the right of this page: http://www.digitaluk.co.uk/, click the "detailed view" box.

Then check the column for "COM7 HD" at Tacolneston. You need a green bar for good reception.

Do you know what type of aerial you have? The Digital UK website suggests a C/D group aerial which may well have been fitted for analogue reception. If you do have a C/D aerial it may be marginal for the COM 7 mux on UHF channel 31.

Factor in that the COM 7 mux is also probably at significantly lower power than the rest of the muxes and you may simply have too little signal off the aerial. In that case a change of aerial may be the only solution.

hello, thank you. No I do not know what type of aireal it is . Is there a way of knowing ? the house is approx 13-15 years old so it may be the original ?

It may not be very obvious what type of aerial you have. If it is stuck up on the roof then they all look pretty much the same from ground level. In some cases grouped aerials have a coloured plastic bung in one end of the horizontal bar down the middle of the aerial. A Group CD aerial should be green. A wide band (which may be needed) should be black. But there is no guarantee that a coloured bung is used.

The age of the aerial is not necessarily an indicator of type. It may be a Group CD installed for analogue reception and may not really have needed changing for the onset of digital.
