Connection Problems
My ISP has been BT for as long as I can remember, basically because of reliability and customer service. For approximately the last 4 months, my internet connection has been dropping, sometimes as many as 4 times a day. This is easily remedied, just by resetting the hub, which is why I haven't contacted BT till now. It is becoming quite inconvenient, occurring at the most inopportune times, in the middle of watching a tv show on you tube, for example. There are no problems with the exchange or my line, and no works in the area. Is anyone else experiencing this problem? Also, the lights on the hub are not changing at all, remaining blue constantly. Thanks.

Do you connect to the hub over wireless or cable?
What you describe can often be due to Wi-Fi interference from neighbours. Try connecting to the hub via an Ethernet cable to see if it is more reliable. Avoid resetting the hub as this can negatively impact your internet speeds. |

My BT home hub 2 loses wifi connection all the time. It seems like it is 'tripping' out when downloading something or even watching YouTube etc. The wired connection remains live even when the wifi has 'tripped'. A router reset is the only way to restore it.

1. How do you know that.
2. What other are experiencing is neither here nor there to your line. I had identical recurring symptoms, blue lights staying on, resetting the router seemed to sort it. Turned out that the fault was in the wireless receiver on my PC. Have you checked reception with another wireless device? |

Are your other 7,146 contributions
I have also pointed out an error in answer which I think may be helpful to others. When/if the OP returns and answers the questions we can start diagnosing the fault - properly. If this seems offensive, you started it.

2. What other are experiencing is neither here nor there to your line. Only if one does it ten times in an hour will it have a deleterious effect. (Source: BTW ADSL Manual.) 2. I was just asking, as it could be a generic problem with BT. |
