Monday 2nd December

It’s chaos in the Butcher household and Bianca is livid when Terry Jnr ruins her stock for the stall. To make matters worse, Terry arrives home smelling of alcohol when he should have been running errands which makes Bianca furious.

Bianca is worried about her relationship with Terry and her worst fears are confirmed when she returns home to find packed cases, so she is relieved when she realises Terry has rallied the children together to tidy the house to make their living situation easier. Bianca is thrilled. But there’s a knock at the door and Liam answers to find Nikki, Terry’s ex-wife, standing on the door step.

Alfie tries to convince Kat to move back into The Vic with him but she worries it’s too soon. However, after some words of advice from Terry, Kat changes her mind and goes back to The Vic to tell Alfie she wants come home, much to his delight. He welcomes her home with a kiss and presents her with the old licensee sign from above the door.

Ava tries to speak to Dexter about Sam leaving but fails. Back at the flat, Dexter is concerned that he hasn’t heard from his dad. Having set the table for only two people, Ava tells Dexter that he has gone for good and they have broken up. A confused Dexter attempts to try and find Sam, considering himself as the reason for his dad’s departure. Ava reassures Dexter that it is not him and lies telling her son that she did not want to be with Sam and told him to leave.

Sadie tries to convince Jake to get a job at the restaurant instead of working as a cab driver which irritates him. Sadie presses the issue further and Jake decides to call Ian about the job. However, Sadie is one step ahead having already called Ian telling Jake he starts tomorrow which annoys him further.

Lauren sees Jake in the cafe and he tells her that they should avoid each other on the Square, leaving Lauren disappointed.

Peter tells Fatboy that Lola is still ignoring him after he punched her date, whilst Lola tells Poppy that she does not care about Peter. Realising they like each other, Poppy and Fatboy decide to bring them together which Lola is not pleased about. Much to everyone’s amusement, Peter picks her up and puts her over his shoulder and walks away so they can talk alone. Peter tells Lola that he likes her and finally kisses her.

Kat finds Joey and Janine kissing on the sofa. Joey calls after Janine as she leaves but Kat stops him from following. Kat tries to convince Joey that he is making a mistake with Janine, but Joey tells her she has no place to give him advice.

Monday 2nd December

Jake tells Lauren that he is seeing a different counsellor. Lauren is left hurt, questioning his feelings towards her but he changes the subject. Lauren tries to take her mind off Jake and goes to help her dad at the car lot where she notices Jake’s taxi.

Not able to concentrate, Lauren visits Jake at Scarlett’s and stays to help as he struggles on his first day in the kitchen. Jake moves away as Lauren leans in for a kiss. Lauren awkwardly leaves when Sadie arrives, but shortly after Jake catches up with Lauren. Realising she’s the only person who really understands him Jake changes his mind and passionately kisses a surprised Lauren.

Nikki lavishes her kids with presents which puts Bianca’s nose out of joint. Bianca reluctantly agrees to invite her round for lunch. Forced to work, Terry misses lunch so Bianca gets David to stay instead. Bianca makes it clear that she does not want Nikki around but after a frosty start, the two clear the air.

Terry comes home to see Bianca and Nikki getting along, though he seems unsure of their new found friendship. As Nikki exits, she tells Bianca about Terry’s history with women, leaving Bianca wary.

Lola asks Poppy to keep her relationship with Peter quiet as she doesn’t want Phil to find out. Later, Ian sees Peter chatting to Lola and tells him to stop wasting time talking to her when he is meant to be working, which annoys him.

Roxy walks into The Vic with Ronnie to see Kat and Alfie kissing. Wanting to save face, she decides to have a drink with Carl as Alfie shares jokes with the punters. Roxy gets drunk and causes a scene playing music on the jukebox and dancing on a table, encouraged by Carl. Alfie tries to help Roxy as she loses balance and falls, but she shouts at him to stay away before Phil takes her home.

Dot loses enthusiasm for raising funds for the church roof, but Poppy and Fatboy vow to help. Fatboy attempts to bake minces pies but fails miserably. Unknown to Ian, Peter gives Fatboy his dad’s stock of mince pies to sell and after sampling one, Ian buys them all. To Dot’s surprise, Fatboy presents her with the £100 that she needs.

Dexter is still angry at Ava for making Sam leave so Dexter asks Cora if he can move with her, leaving Ava upset. Ava tells Cora that she has made matters worse and remains defensive when Cora asks her why Sam left.

Tuesday 3rd December

Alfie is keen to make it the best Christmas ever with decorations covering The Vic and is looking forward to spending time with Kat and Tommy. However, Kat wants to keep their festivities private after seeing the state Roxy was in. Meanwhile, Roxy is hungover and after venturing outside she is conscious that everyone is talking about her.

Worried that her sister wants to leave Walford and stay with Peggy, Ronnie asks Phil for help. Later, Kat and Alfie are both stunned when Ronnie arrives upstairs in The Vic and drops a bombshell – they have to leave as Phil is selling The Vic.

Despite Terry’s reassurance, a frustrated Bianca is still having difficulty trusting him and asks David for advice. Worried about his daughter, David tells Terry about her concerns and suggests he makes the effort to show Bianca how much she means to him.

Although Terry tells David their relationship is none of his business, he takes David’s advice. He later surprises Bianca by putting up Alfie’s unwanted Christmas decorations in the lounge and confirms that he wants to spend the rest of his life with her.

Carol spends the night at Masoods’, leaving David disappointed. David is keen to spend Christmas just with the family, but Carol has other plans and wants to invite Masood over, much to David’s disapproval.

To make things clear about his relationship with Carol, Masood tells David that they are in love and Carol will be spending Christmas with him, leaving Masood victorious and David annoyed however he’s not giving up on Carol that easily.

Billy is surprised to see Joey at Janine’s house and advises her that seeing Joey is a bad idea. Janine tries to convince him that nothing is going on between them, but feels unsettled when she discovers Joey has taken out Scarlett when she told him not to. When Joey returns, Janine tells him that she thinks it is best he leaves, but Joey persuades her otherwise.

With Sadie out for the day, Jake and Lauren arrange to meet at his flat so they are unexpectedly interrupted when Sadie returns. Lauren hides as Sadie tells Jake she’s been trying to get hold of him because Bella has had an accident at school.

Lauren’s phone then begins to ring which catches Sadie’s attention but Jake manages to change the subject and gets Sadie out the flat by suggesting they pick up Bella. Jake feels guilty and later tells Lauren it can’t happen again, but the excitement of sneaking around has made Lauren even more attracted to Jake.

After initially being undecided about whether to spend Christmas with Tanya or Max, Lauren tells a delighted Max they will spend Christmas with him after her rendezvous with Jake. They will also be joined by a stray dog ‘Tramp’ that Max allows Abi to keep after she rescues him from the street.

Thursday 5th December

A ‘For Sale’ sign being placed at The Vic catches the attention of the locals as an oblivious Kat and Alfie sleep upstairs. When Kat and Alfie wake they are shocked by what they see.

Alfie goes to see Phil to try and convince him not to sell The Vic so Alfie is left annoyed when Phil confirms that he is throwing them out. In the heat of an argument, Roxy enters.

Alfie tries to appeal to their better nature but Phil tells him the only way he will reconsider is if he begs for Roxy’s forgiveness which is impossible for Alfie. Once Alfie has left, Roxy tells Phil that he’ll regret selling The Vic, which gives Phil food for thought. However, at that moment, there is a loud crash Alfie hurls the Queen Victoria bust through Phil’s window.

Carol notices Joey going to Janine’s house and calls him to meet with her and Alice’s solicitor, Mr Sager. The solicitor suggests that Alice pleads guilty to lessen her sentence. Joey thinks Mr Sager is giving up on Alice, but Carol wants to hear more. Visiting Alice in prison, Joey falsely tells Alice she has every chance of winning the trial, but a shocked Carol tells Alice the truth. Alice is distraught. In the heat of the moment Carol reveals that Joey is sleeping with Janine which devastates Alice.

Janine feels confused about her relationship with Joey but he tells her to forget about Alice. So when David informs Janine that Joey has gone to see Alice she is alarmed and later confronts Joey. Joey tells Janine he didn’t tell her about visiting Alice as he didn’t want to worry her.

Joey later tells Kat that he knows Alice is not guilty and it was Janine who murdered Michael because he was going to kill her but he is determined to continue his false relationship with Janine until he can prove Alice’s innocence.

Sadie is surprised when Jake tells her he accepted the job at Scarlett’s. Later in the Square, Jake tells Lauren to stay away as she approaches him but when Sadie appears he quickly changes the subject.

Lauren is left disappointed as Jake and Sadie walk towards The Vic laughing and joking together. Angry and upset, she storms back home to find her sketch of Jake on the table, which a troubled Max has found, and tears it into pieces.
