I love Shirley!! I'd love to dance to Spinning Wheel, that's quite funky, maybe a slow latin of some description? You can't beat a bit of Engelbert either, might have to vote for that one!

Now, I'm struggling in erm "training" with my jive, as I nacked my knees playing netball years ago. What tune can I use that will minimise the kicks bit so I don't get voted out of my virtual head? lolx

I suppose tempo and rhythm are the main things, eg waltz is in 3/4 time, cha cha cha in 4/4 time. I am not musical, I just tend to get a feel for the song and what dance would suit it.

I think we might have similar tastes. I love your David Cassidy choice - it's one of my favourite songs.

This is probably one of my favourite threads of all time on this board. It's great fun and very addictive!

I would have thought this would have been more suited to either a Foxtrot or American Smooth rather than a Viennese Waltz.

Great thread!

ChaChaCha: Smooth by Santana
Samba: Danza Kuduro by Don Omar
Salsa: Bei Mir Bist Du Schön – Joss Stone and Jools Holland version
Rumba: Underneath Your Clothes by Shakira
Jive: Bright Side of the Road by Van Morrison

Waltz: Gravity by John Mayer
Viennese Waltz: Run by Stephen Fretwell
Quickstep: Goodbye Stranger by Supertramp
American Smooth (Viennese Waltz): That’s Life by Frank Sinatra
Foxtrot: Rich Girl by Hall and Oates
Charleston: Nowadays from Chicago (the instrumental part)

For Paso, Tango and Argentine Tango, I’d go for traditional music and I'd count on my pro partner to pick it

it's got quite a lot of phrasing in it hasn't it? I guess you are right, I don't have an AS currently.

Could Fairground be used for a VW too?

Love your Foxtrot and Tango choices!

Wouldn't it be brilliant if someone from the show paid attention to this thread?

Otherwise:

Quickstep
Crazy in a Mood for Love - Angel Coulby and the Louis Lester Band
VW
Danse Macabre - Saint Saens
Waltz
Young and Beautiful - Lana del Rey (I'm not totally sure this one, I'm bad at estimating waltz time)
Tango
Miss Moorhead's Tango - don't know the artist
Foxtrot
Song of the Volga Boatmen - Glenn Miller

Jive
Straight to Number One [Duck's Radio Mix] - Touch and Go
Samba
Hip Hip Chin Chin - Club des Belugas
Rumba
Like You'll Never See Me Again - Alicia Keys
Paso Doble
Malaguena - Brian Setzer
Cha Cha Cha
Rescue Me - Fontella Bass

AT
And Then You're Gone - Pink Martini (great storytelling for Craig!)
American Smooth
Let's Face the Music and Dance - Nat King Cole
Salsa
La Comay - Sonora Carruseles
Charleston
Darktown Strutter's Ball - Hoagy Carmichael

Why yes, I have thought about this far too much
