I thought I would ask on here as this forum seems to have more technically minded people than the BT forum.
I have sound issues (mainly with the IP channels) on my BT YouView box and was wondering if someone could confirm what sound streams are broadcast across the different types of channels. I have stated the different channels below and what I think is transmitted but not sure if this is just to basic an understanding I have and the reality is much more complex.

I use SPDIF and the menu settings set to 'surround'. I have tried HDMI but that seems to not give Dolby signal on hardly anything even using the workarounds.

Freeview SD channels

Standard stereo only (works as expected over SPDIF)

HD Freeview channels

Dolby 2.0/5.1 and standard stereo (works perfectly over SPDIF)

Catch-up

Dolby 2.0/5.1 and standard stereo (will only switch to Dolby if forced via workaround)

IP Channels

Dolby 2.0/5.1 and standard stereo (will only switch to Dolby if forced via workaround)

and switches back if skipped on a recording.

IP HD Channels

Dolby 2.0/5.1 and standard stereo (will only switch to Dolby if forced via workaround)

and switches back if skipped on a recording.

EXCEPT the three BT sports channels which seem to work perfectly.

On-Demand

Dolby 2.0/5.1 and standard stereo (will only switch to Dolby if forced via workaround)

EXCEPT the HD films with 5.1 which seem to work perfectly.

This causes me an issue because I watch everything through a sony amp that uses a pro-logic 2 setting to make the Dolby 2.0 stream into a matrixed 5.1 and sounds ok through my speakers but when it flicks to standard stereo (PCM) it shoots up in volume and doesn't matrix.

Also there seems to be a slight conflict in DD+. Someone has said the HUMAX software doesn't deal with it and just down matrix's it but some of BT's documantation shows specifically the Dolby Digital Plus logos.

Any help/agreement/disagreement would be extremely helpful.

Thanks in advance.

The two workarounds are either when the program is playing to press the AD button twice (on then off) or to go into settings and change the sound format to stereo then back to surround.
