I think Mark, Susanna and Natalie have been shafted - only because I have never heard their songs - it always helps me if I know the song
I know the movies, just not the songs ![]() "Good Morning, Good Morning, we've danced the whole night through, Good Morning, Good Morning to you" and repeat.. not ringing any bells? Haven't you ever seen Singing in the Rain? I feel old....

I asked why you would pick the Tommy Steele version - must be on another thread. You could be right though - three singers instead of one. Also it is Debbie Reynold's fabulous voice that makes the original so magical for me and Dave Arches wonderful singers no matter how wonderful will not be able to recreate Debbie's tone I suppose.
I posted this earlier in thread here is snippet of the Tommy steele good morning - it is bettter imo than the film one as a qs http://www.cduniverse.com/productinf...28&style=music |

unless of course you have seen Ernie Wise do it in which case that probably doesn't count ![]() You'll know it when you hear it - did I see someone else questioning why Tommy's Steele's version, I did wonder -where did I see that? |

I am imagining a disco salsa, with the emphasis on disco
Will Aljaz wear the white suit?? Not looking forward to an orchestra singer trying to do a Barry Gibb...Btw I just found 'Jim Carrey on The Larry Sanders Show' on Youtube doing a comedy version of 'And I'm Telling You...' I don't know how to post links, does anyone care to?! (prob not) That is what is going to be in my head when Natalie is dancing. Haven't seen Dreamgirls!

I thought "You Should Be Dancing" a pretty tuneless BeeGee's song.
There's far better more suited to dancing. I prefer their slower songs. This was great and this my favourite version. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=e7f1ZB91kPg |

Actually Debbie Reynolds was dubbed for that, I think by Betty Noyes. There was a BBC 4 program about the singers who dubbed for the studios in the 40's and 50's not that long ago.
And the irony!!"!!Oh well whoever she was or wasn't its a wonderful voice. |

Yes,you are quite right, that's what it will have to be. Do you think they'll have to throw in some Saturday Night Fever /John Travolta-on-dancefloor armography too?

Haven't seen Dreamgirls! ![]() Jennifer Hudson, in Dreamgirls: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=QsiSRSgqE4E Hope those work. It is a great song and no doubt Artem can pick out sections of it and get it to work. Perhaps it will be fantastic. But I can't help thinking someone behind the scenes is slightly taking the mick getting Natalie to dance to 'I'm not going ... and you're going to love me.' eta: there are some songs that are amazing to watch someone sing their heart out. I love Jennifer Hudson doing this. But they don't necessarily work if you can't see the singer, you aren't connecting to the singer, and you are trying to concentrate on something else, like dancing. Then they can quickly become annoying, however good the singing. And my worry is that this is one of those songs. (But heck I thought Ben would be in till the final - I know nothing.) |

Oh no!! This looks bad...could think of so many better songs! Poor Sophie, I was hoping for Stars from Les Mis for her VW (if a VW can be danced to 12/8, which I'm assuming it can? Dance experts?)

Actually my dismay has been replaced with mirth that the woman who was used to dub the star in the show who was not deemed to have a good enough voice, was herself not deemed to have a good enough voice to play the women who didn't have a good enough voice that she dubbed..Are you following....

I think this song can only distract from it. And I agree on the lyrics- 'you're going to love me', -hmm, yes I wonder... |

As a huuuge musicals and show tunes geek I'm so, so disappointed in pretty much every song choice! Another potentially great show ruined before it's started

Disappointed with Mark's song choice - At least the producers could have picked (the more famous) 'Hakuna Matata' rather than 'I Just Can't Wait to be King'.

...of course I hate to think what the vocals of the version on Strictly will sound like.

It's used as a jingle on a breakfast radio show. Possibly Chris Evans on Radio 2?
