Can I just ask all of the posters so far on this thread what way they would expect them to react to seeing their loved ones after 10 days away from them?

If they acted like they were expecting to see them they would be criticised for not being appreciative

I know that Kian's wife flew out to Australia only 2 days ago, so Kian hasn't seen her for about 3 weeks. No idea about the others though.

I would love 10 days away from the misses

At the risk of sounding like a sap, in the 16 years I've been with my husband we haven't gone a day without, at least, speaking to each other & I think I would react in the exact same way as Kian

A hug a cuddle a kiss a smily face not bawling ones eyes out like you have been reunited after months apart.......

Too early for them to be getting rewards like this in my opinion. I know it does no harm but they've only been in just over a week.

They've been in a new place and out of their comfort zone so I don't think it's that surprising that when they get reunited with a person who is familiar to them that they get a bit emotional.

You have to put it into some perspective though. They are sitting around in camp 24/7 in that environment, it can't be easy.

I wouldn't expect such an emotional reaction after just ten days. Surprise and hugs, yes, but, for me, it seems over emotional for such a short time apart.

You don't sound like a sap to me, I would be the same!

It was way OTT. Surely the villa and all that went with it was more than enough reward for answering a few stupid questions without the 'family members' icing on the cake malarkey??

Jungle torture standards have slipped apallingly.

I think its the lack of news...when i go away for work, im happy i can skype now, you feel less far away but no news no contacts is probably the hardest and get you a bit emotional...
They will be happy with the pay cheque at the end too!

Yeah I do think they should have waited another few days, but with the eliminations starting soon they probably had to do it now as part of this task as they can't be sure who will be there and who won't. But I do think it has all climaxed too early and is making an already boring enough series even less exciting.

Exactly, all that lovely food and luxury was perfectly adequate, there was no need for that family guff already

Standards/conditions certainly do seem to be slipping with this show.

It was nice that it was such a shock but.... I'm more disgusted with Alfonzo leaving his brand new baby, there is no amount of money on the planet that can replace those love times & moments but he has clearly put a price on that. Silly man.

I thought this too, its only been 11 days lol, I'm in a long distance relationship and I've gone much longer than that, without seeing my partner!

Have you gone that long without talking to, texting or communicating in any way with any of your loved ones, family or friends? Must be quite strange. I think I'd get quite emotional seeing my cat after that long, let alone another human being that I love dearly.

It does look daft on the telly but I think I would find it hard to go a week without being in contact with certain people in my life. To be minus them all would be quite hard. But I would consider it for a small fee!!!!!

I agree with the OP, ridiculous, almost as bad as the blubbering we get on BB. No, in fact probably worse, at least on BB they've been there for a couple of months! 11 days ffs! I've gone longer between craps

BB letters are nearer the end 6, 7, 8 weeks in. Big difference.
