In real life would Alfie not have been arrested for causing a disturbance and delaying an aeroplane?

He'd probably been dragged away by anti-terror police before he even got to the runway

Send him to the tower. Not only did he cause lots of people to lose their jobs, he caused a disturbance and nuisance and would have certainly been arrested.

In reality he'd have been arrested long before he got near that plane! Probably when he asked to buy a ticket and they told him he couldn't ....

In real life he would have been well on his way to Guantanamo!

I'm just wondering if maybe security would be more relaxed at Southend airport as it's not a major one? Not that I'm saying what happened was remotely realistic, as it wasn't...

He would have probably been shot, they would never have allowed him to go through let alone bang on the plane door, he could have easily had a bomb strapped to him, very unrealistic and potrays airport security as being inadequate (I know it's only a soap but it's still annoying)

What Alfie did was totally unrealistic and likely illegal.

- First he would never have been issued a ticket, boarding pass after gate closure.

- He then forced his way through security, past the boarding gate and onto the apron/parking stands.

- Where were all the ground staff? There's usually a team of people surrounding an aircraft during boarding and push back.

- Banging on the door of an advanced 737 airliner and the cabin crew opening it up and just letting him on?!

- Passengers sitting quietly, no panic, no confusion.

- Slow response from the airport authorities and cabin crew.

Alfie could have been arrested, held for questioning and possibly charged under terror related offences or at least for endangering the lives of passengers and staff by running onto an active apron/taxi way. The airline would probably fine him for delaying the flight and blacklist him.

Southend Airport were probably thrilled for the obvious advertising, the name was used quite a few times in two episodes and clearly visible throughout the 'Kalfie' scenes but after watching it, management might be a little embarrassed to be involved. Made the up and coming airport look very amateur.

Would have been much better if the anti terror police had gunned him down on the runway.

In real life he probably wouldn't even have got to the airport! The guy whose bike he hijacked would have told the police who were already on the scene and he would have been intercepted.

I wouldn't disagree with you, but then again, let's not forget how during the Who Killed Archie storyline that the senior detectives on the case were openly discussing it in the market place with the local residents. Apparently realism with law enforcement is irrelevant in EastEnders lol

I only just watched that episode last night, that was so far fetched ( yes I know it's a soap) it was beyond a joke. As if that would ever happen in real life.

Yep, passport but no wallet, he had to ask Ian for money for the scooter owner .. which begs the question how did he pay for his ticket? Not that they would ever have sold him one in the first place .....

i was watching this with my son - and saying
"that wouldn't happen....,there's no way he would get to the door,...did he have id with him? to get through?" (he had to ask Ian for his wallet to give to the moped guy, so am guessing had nothing on him)

Apparently, so an FM tells me, Roxy reminded him to have his passport with him. This though begs the question, why when they were going back to the Vic for the obligatory reception? No way would have have been able to buy a ticket for that flight but it would be for the next one, he wouldn't have been able to then barge through border control where he said to the bloke I've got a ticket. He wouldn't have been able to bang on the door and the best laugh is that when the cabin crew opened the door, she didn't question him or stop him from boarding she said, do you have your boarding pass!!! so Hilarious, not to mention nobody on that flight saying anything. The bloke sat behind looked like he was reading lmfao! If that had been me, I'd have said so you want to talk to your girlfriend mate, well I want to bloody fly off on to my well deserved holiday. I so loathe Alfie these days.

I've no idea whether running onto the tarmac is a federal offence, but it wouldn't matter in the slightest if it were. We're not yet under the rule of a country with federal law.

The guy on the bike let him have it and thats why he gave the biker ians watch and wallet as insurance. So that when he brings the bike back they can exchange back so to speak.

There's also no way a real life crew would allow Kat and Tommy to have the exit row seats - particularly Tommy being sat right next to the door. To be sat next to the door you have to be someone who would be able to open it quickly, and get out of it quickly too. I don't think a 2 or 3 year old really qualifies..

Except that the moped is almost bound to be worth more than whatever was in Ian's wallet (hard to believe it was more than a couple of hundred at most) and one watch. Plus of course, comprehensive insurance no longer covers you to just drive another vehicle or have somebody drive yours. You have to be a named driver or you are breaking the law and unless he said Alfie had stolen it, the moped owner would be in trouble as well, having all the hassle of getting the bike back as it would be seized by the Police.

I'm assuming Alfie didn't drive it back to the guy either as he will have returned with Kat and Tommy. Who was where by the way during Alfie's night of passion with Kat at the Vic. She didn't take him with her when she left.

Excellent point about Tommy's whereabouts - I'm assuming he was in his own bed at Kat's but with Michael dead and Alice in prison would they have really left Tommy alone in the house with just Joey to babysit??? Can't see that!
