I'm sure I'm not the only one who has found this boring and a waste of good air time.
The time spent on it could be used for explaining the dances a little more.

I like it and it's great to see Natalie.

The show did tail off a bit, although the mega Anton hug was amusing, I thought she was never going to let him go lol

5 minutes or so out of 150 minutes of show for the week is not much at all. It is quite interesting to see how to complete novices with no fame or history to carry them along manage learning to dance. And as turquoiseblue says we get to see Natalie.

Ah, I get to see enough wedding couples when I go to a dance lesson and so not really interested in seeing them on ITT, but I agree that it is only a short time and so therefore no big problem. They seem to be a nice enough couple.

However, I always hope I’m not following a wedding couple when I have a dance lesson because they nearly always overrun, since they often regard the end of the lesson as the right time to talk about what shoes to wear, will their dress be too long, have they chosen the right music, when can they fit the next lesson into their busy wedding planning schedule, will they be ready in time etc.

And I'm sure I'm not the only one who's enjoying this nice little segment.

How many viewers dream (if only idly) of being taught by our favourite pro dancer? There have been threads on the subject! So this small segment - just a few minutes out of each week - allows us to fulfil that dream, albeit vicariously.

Or, you know, go and make a cup of tea or something...

I have LOVED watching this idea on the show and can't wait to see them dance at their wedding. It should only be done this once though, keeping it something truly unique. I just hope enough time is given to showing us the final result and it is not rushed like the rest of ITT. Plus we get to see Natalie every week.

I'm with Sally Scott on this one I find I have to switch over when this bit comes on. It's just boring and the more they try to make it exciting the more I roll my eyes.

Exactly, as the number of contestants drops they have to find things to cover. This works out well because the wedding is (I think) a couple of weeks before the final so helps fill up the programme during that time. They seem a very nice couple and Natalie seems to be liking the chance to teach them.

I am sorry to say I agree, it's a real Zzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzz, shame really as they are a nice couple, but not that interesting to watch.

The wedding bit is so boring I agree too.

I'm just happy to see Natalie. I let all the wedding and fanboy stuff wash over me whilst I sip on my coffee with just a teaspoon of Armagnac in it.

I am spilt on this. I really don't mind Wendy and Gordon ( or whatever they are called) having their 15 minutes of fame. they seem a nice couple and good luck to them.

But I do see it as a missed opportunity. It could have been used as a chance to forensically examine a dance. By deconstructing and putting a particular dance back together sort of vicarious learning exercise for us all.

It would also have been nice to hear more about their feelings about learning to dance. Not just how chuffed they were with Natalie (who wouldn't be chuffed with Na?t) or how tricky it is to learn etc but the emotions they have experienced by learning to connect in this new way. Has this made a difference to their relationship? Do they place a different value on dance now? Perhaps they realise that it isn't just a pleasing spectacle to add to a wedding (like the napkins) but something that is more life affirming - or perhaps they don't.

I had high hopes we were going to get something interesting when the blindfolds came out. Perhaps getting them to connect entirely through touch. But no we got a surprise visit from Anton.

So many of the fillers seem to me to be time wasted when I personally would like to see it spent on more dance analysis - giving Craig, Karen and Ian more time so they really get to explain not juts give sound bites for example.

I agree, but methinks the divine Natalie is making the best of a not very exciting job. I expect she wishes the Beeb could have come up with something a bit more interesting for her to do.

I really really hope she is back in the main show next year (and with a contender!)

That would be a good idea.

Me too, but I have the feeling that the SCD producers think that most of us have very little interest in the techniques of dance. A pity really.

I think it's rather sweet, nice to see regular people being taught a dance but I hope it's a one off.

I would prefer to see more interviews with the pros and more technicalities of dance explained.

The problem is though, we know from experience that these segments wouldn't be replaced by the sort of things people are suggesting.

The programme already covers interviews with each couple, reviews of the last performances (by Craig & Karen), previews of the next performances (by Ian & the Friday panel), how to do each dance or certain steps (a pro couple, Ian & Karen). Over the years I have not noticed any of these being allocated more time.

So we get fillers like this one and as fillers go, I think it's a great one. I also like seeing where the pros live. On the other hand, I didn't like the filler where someone wore a Strictly costume to work.

The show tries to appeal to lots of people and I think it does that.

I just love seeing Natalie every week. I really hope her foot gets better soon so we can see her in some of the Pro dances before the end fo the series. Such a shame that it wasn't healed enough for her to take part in the Christmas Special. The thought of seeing Aliona again on Christmas Day is just too much to bear!

I love Natalie and miss her on the show and that couple seems nice enough but I have to agree with the OP, I find that segment really, really boring .

But I understand that the show needs fillers since they're a few couples left and I always wanted to know what it would be like to learn from a pro (on the show ) ...but yet I still find that segment incredibly boring

I totally agree about the bit about Natalie. I really miss her on the show so yes it's great to see her on the ITT sofa at least even if it's for that  wedding segment .

Does anyone knows if her foot is completely healed ? And if there's a chance that she will do the tour ?

I've really enjoyed the wedding dance section. It's amazing to see how quickly Mel and Gordon have picked it up, considering they had no dance experience. Really looking forward to seeing the entire dance!

I'm with you OP, the happy couple bore the excrement out of me. Nice to see Natalie involved in the show though.
