Gig tickets as a present?

I bought a friend a pair of tickets for Katy Perry's tour next May as a Christmas present. Obviously won't get the tickets before Christmas to give them to her.

So looking for ideas on a special way to "present them" to her if this makes sense

Ticketmaster do a, create a gift receipt for printing off yourself but looks a bit tacky. Would be great if TM offered a service where they send out a nice gift card with all the details to give to the person, but that's besides the point.

Has anyone done this with gig tickets as a gift and what did you do?

Could you imagine the cost of a Ticketmaster gift card?!

If your friend is a big fan of Katy Perry, you could buy them a Katy Perry calendar and put the date of the concert in it?

I always wonder when people give a pair of gig tickets as a gift do they then expect to be "invited" to same gig

Hardly give one ticket as a present, but no I don't expect to be invited. Doubt I could survive the crowd at a Katy Perry gig
