Since Brierley Hill is a relay off Sutton Coldfield, it would be receivable over a wide area.

Can see the 96 kbps stream (as also mentioned in the Changelog) - but direct from Sutton Coldfield via UHF channel 43. There's a screenshot on my website. Can't verify the audio - as it's hidden from my Freeview receivers and the software obviously just analyses the raw multiplex data.

As it's not linked to local TV, can I suggest splitting this off to another thread?

Yes. BBC Radio WM audio. I only mentioned it here as it was found when scanning for the local mux. Feel free to move to a new thread

Fascinating! I think you should have the honour of starting the new thread in this forum describing what you've found since it really could be quite significant. Please post a link here to the new thread and then we can let this local TV thread get back on track.

I wonder when the other local tv channel will launch on the london Lmux?

I mistakenly posted on the changelog (arggg!) instead of this thread that at about 4pm LondonLive was listed in the LCN 8 slot on Digital UK's channel listing: http://www.digitaluk.co.uk/industry/...annel_listings

Fortunately my mispost and Digital UK's extra London-centric entry have both been removed already. Thanks to whoever the mod is who did mine for me

That list used to have Estuary on it. DUK obviously changed it to Local TV to avoid clogging the list up, and somebody different presumably mistakenly added London Live as an extra.

It may be that there is some automation. Did LondonLive get given its LCN 8 today? Perhaps someone had to manually remove it after an auto-add. I still have a screen grab, the entry was there with no ticks in any of the E W S NI CI columns.

Yes, as reported here by a516 at 1610, it is transmitting a promotion on LCN8 now.

That's the second national channel

792 was "Local TV Test 2" until it was renamed Bonanza Bonanza and moved to it's new home.

Thanks. I wasn't 100% sure if LCN8 was new to CP, or just the preview roll - but I suspected as much hence my guess that digitaluk have some automation.

I suspect you'd have to ask Comux- and if they are still deep in negotiations or have had no interest- either way they aren't likely to let on.

I guess there's a chance they'll generate another placeholder with Bonanza Bonanza+1

All i really want to know is what LCN it will use.If it LCN 65 then the kids and news channel well be moving 16 week after LCN 65 is allocated.

From Crystal Palace, my Technika box connected to the rooftop aerial is now refusing to pick up the local mux, Bonanza channel, local test card and London Live tests all breaking up, pixellating, completely unwatchable. Yet my portable set in the kitchen complete with indoor aerial is pulling them in loud and clear!

My Technika box is very poor at picking up the local mux, actually managed to decode it for the first time yesterday but it keeps breaking up. Other receivers are much better. It must have a less sensitive tuner.

Further to earlier posts #153-158.
Following the recent change to LCN 8 and 64, I tried tuning the bedroom TV again on ch 29 and up popped 8, 64 and 791 with decent signal strengths. Set top aerial and nothing has changed here since the set's original refusal to "see" anything on ch 29. There must have been a change of transmission characteristics that has enabled it to show up on my cheapo set. Ch 29 from Crystal Palace is predicted not to radiate southwards (unlike the yet-to-be-commissioned Croydon transmitter which will), but I notice reception reports from much further south than here (I'm 3 miles south of CP). Who said RF is a black art?

Indeed - I am just over 24 miles south of CP (well a bit west of south, actually).
