A lot of the websites are pretty bad at updating (they were quick enough to spring up when they were originally awarded the licences and some still show pages with hopelessly optimistic launch dates long passed.

Made TV appears to have its act somewhat in order.

That's TV's website still just shows That's Solent and That's Oxford as coming soon even though both should have launched by now under their licence terms. Not a scintilla of information as to what's what.

As I've said before - hardly confidence inspiring.

A lot of companies are bad at updating their websites, there are often more important things to do. I worked for an IT services company whose website was perpetually "coming soon".

Having said that, That's TV don't appear to be doing much promotion and I would have expected launch dates on their website if nothing else.

Freeview EPG says the Made in Tyne & Wear Launch Show is on at 8pm on Wednesday the 12th of November.

Is there a list somewhere of all the transmitters with a local Mux with the UHF channel numbers and ERPs?

Many thanks. I guessed it was in the OFCOM site somewhere, but I just couldn't find it.

Is there any way I can tell whether I am receiving the London local mux from Crystal Palace or Croydon down in darkest Sussex? I first picked it up when CP came on the air (February) but I think it improved when Croydon did (June).

As both transmitters work as an SFN, you'll be probably receiving a mixture of both.
The only possible way to tell which is the dominant tx is a very directional aerial, and see whether the signal peaks when directed at CP or Croydon, though the angle between them from your distance makes that difficult too.

Indeed! I have just measured it and the difference in angle is well under 1 degree.

Does anyone happen to know where we can get programme listings for channels such as Made in Tyne and Wear apart from of course the EPG on Freeview etc. Before anyone mentions the website I would just mention that for all Made TV channels - Cardiff, Bristol, Leeds and Tyne and Wear they have changed to say the launch dates for Freeview, Virgin and Sky but apart from that it just says that something is coming soon as in a new way to watch so there is no where to view programme listings.

OK, not a problem then and probably explains why it improved a bit. I'm way outside the intended service area and find that reception varies from receiver to receiver - some pick up the weak signal perfectly, others stutter a bit.

Yes, no chance of differentiating them from here and I would be very surprised if my existing aerial was pointing that accurately to CP, even within 5 degrees would be pretty good.

Not quite "new". Kaleidoscope was one of the rival bidders when "City TV" (BLTV) went into Administration in August. Kaleidoscope have been in discussion with Ofcom since then, and Ofcom has agreed to transfer the licence oriiginally award to City TV, to Kaleidscope. http://licensing.ofcom.org.uk/binari...er_request.pdf

The Guardian has reported Ofcom as saying That's Oxford 'is planning to launch before 29 January'.

I'm finally able to get the Birmingham local MUX, I notice that QVC Extra and Pop are on it but there's no local TV test. I assume it's been taken off until nearer the launch of City TV's replacement?

There has never been a local TV test for specifically for Birmingham's local TV service active on this multiplex.

Local TV test channels 791 and 792 that appeared earlier this year where in fact tests on all active local TV multiplexes across the UK for the slots now used by POP and QVC Extra.

The Community channel is gifted it's capacity by Arqiva and the public service broadcasters (hence why it moves around a lot and gets frequent broadcasting hour changes).

The commercial channels on the local TV multiplex exist to help fund/reduce the costs for the local TV stations - therefore gifting the Community Channel capacity on that multiplex (which has reduced coverage) wouldn't help fund the local tv services.

Additionally the Community channel already has a 24/7 slot available on COM7 - available to any receiver which can get BBC News HD (basically around 75% (vs 60% for local tv) population coverage, but a Freeview HD receiver is needed too).
