I've had this tv for about 18months, and recently it's developed a problem. From time to time, and more often than not when it's turned on, I get this shadow which starts from the right hand top of the screen and then fades out towards the left hand side. The bottom half of the screen is unaffected. By pressing the top of the screen or tapping it I can get it to disappear.

I emailed samsung technical help, who were completely useless , they said it was faulty and would need to be repaired...wow I never would have thought !!!

Is this a common problem, does anyone know how it can be sorted without having to send it back to samsung, who I guess will charge me an arm and a leg.

It's almost certainly a faulty LCD panel, and repair would cost about the same as the original purchase price - and quite possible considerably more.

i am afraid it will get worse, it's a common problem for all plasma TVs to brake after some time, i found this great article on how to repair the problem yourself, i think it's a problem with your Y and Z sustain board, at least it's what i suspect. i hope it helps you http://eliasp9.hubpages.com/hub/A-Co...Plasma-Tv-Sets
