replace hdr fox t2 hard drive same size, easy?

My hdr fox t2 hard disk is making horrible noises and pixelates when it reaches a part of the disk. I'm thinking it's time to replace the disk?

If I swap it for same size 1 TB disk, is this easy? will it format it for me? I don't have a tower to mess about with disk formatting anymore. I've read that people have to make partitions etc, is this only for non-standard disks?

if it's a straight swap out, any links for the type of disk I want to buy?

You could install the custom firmware that has tools to help in judging the health of the disk and fixing certain types of problems.

Very straightforward to change and yes the HDR will format disks up to 1TB.

Disks bigger than 1TB or where the user wants to align the partitions o na 4KB sector size drive a.k.a. advanced format drives.
