Which 'phone/contract for my mum?

She fancies an iphone as she has an ipad mini. She doesn't make that many calls or send that many texts. She wants to use her 'phone on the internet, preferably tethered to the ipad. She's thinking of buying a phone and having a separate contract, but she'd like to keep her old number. Any suggestions on a phone and contract?

Insert SIM into iPhone?

You can't keep the old service and transfer the number to a new contract.

giffgaff do a £12.50/month SIM with 3GB data that allows tethering - see this link.
