I think Bruce does a great job and his behaviour is part of the fun of the show. I know that without him the show would not have grown to be as successful as it is.
A change of roles should be in order if Bruce stays...

Surely his comments are more in line with giving succour and support to the celeb who has just danced his or her heart out, or who has fallen foul of the Wardrobe dept. He tries to give positive comments, or a simple "you're my favourite".
He also stands up for those celebs when the judges seem to pass very harsh or unwarranted comments, and if that means that he has to interrupt then so be it. X Factor this is not.
What he doesn't do is say that they were dull, flat-footed, stompy, that their hands were spatulistic, or that their danced lacked emotion.

The ratings aren't. Oh I know,, 'it can't be proved!!!' or 'There's more to Strictly than Bruce!!!' All of that is perfectly true, but what is also true is that he is a major part of Strictly. So like it or lump it, you're assertions can't be proved either.

The shows current success is not down to Bruce. The original format & idea may have been helped along the path to success by his inclusion at the start.
How people can assert Bruce is the reason for the success I do not know. Without the dancing & Judges there would be no show. Yet without Bruce the show manages perfectly well. So who in that situation is vital?

Without the dancers and the Judges, there would only be FForsyth.
With FForsyth on screen for the full hour or so the show would be akin to watching paint dry or grass grow. As you say, there would just be no show!
If, as some naive posters seem to believe, FForsyth is an essential part of the show, how do they explain the overwhelming success of the many versions in other countries across the world, none of which have a fumbling mumbling geriatric presenter inflicted upon them and who have probably never heard of FForsyth nor would ever want to.

I agree that he sometimes comes across as rude. Even tonight he was fooling around off camera while the dancers were being interviewed by Tess.
It really is time for him to go. What was all that "Who wants to go first? tat tonight?
The other week he got annoyed with the floor manager when he/she pointed out he was looking at the wrong camera, which of course he was.
