we've got rabbits, fish, a dog & a small child. Always been around animals when i was little, horses, sheep & chickens etc. would be an empty house without our little (& not so little) buddies.

My cat has been an endless source of amusement, affection and companionship. He can be bloody annoying and the cutest thing in the world. He is very affectionate and does seem to enjoy my company (otherwise, let's be honest, he'd be off to find a better place to live). And that's cats: it's on their terms and in some ways that's part of the appeal I think. What you see is what you get and they are totally honest.

And that said, I have to echo Lyceum's post:
