You can record two programs from different muxes, whilst watching another from either mux and have a fourth PiP from either MUX too. Very cool.
Clock offset is in settings menu. rrog: Screen shots are here: http://toppy.webhop.net More info here: www.toppy.org.uk |

Hi emsee
Been reading the posts here and on toppy uk about the Topfield; quite a few say it is noisy; some say it is OK; no one seems to think it is quiet. All subjective of course but perhaps its noise rating (1) needs upping when you next update the chart. Regards Richard |

I've just noticed "Availability" is spelt wrong on the table.
Otherwise thanks for the great comparison chart! |

EPG Freeview / 4TV
Hi,
Can someone explain what the difference is on how the EPG is broadcast/received. I understand about 4TV and it being broadcast overnight/weekends on channel 704 but what about freeview EPG? Cheers ~Phil~ p.s I have decided to get the Toppy as soon as new stocks arrive next week

Your table is really useful. Does anyone know if a similar one exists for single-tuner PVRs as well?
thanks, Rob |

I have a pace twin, which I'm very happy with, but as they're not readily available I'm looking for something to recommend to my parents. The fusion FVRT100 looks pretty good, but I have a couple of questions about it. It has been said that : Quote:

You have to press the Fast Rewind or Fast Forward button constantly and watch the timeline mark creep slowly until you're at the start or end. Duh! Originally Posted by Ang This is how the Fusion and Thomson time slip works also, but you can watch the timeline mark move ever so quickly until you're at the start or end! My second question relates to 'padding' the recording length. Again, a couple of quotes: Quote:

The Fusion only has manual which is fairly pointless.' The pace lets me highlight a program in the EPG, press 'record' and the recording is scheduled. Do all the other boxes do this? Maybe worth a mention in the comparison chart, unless it's blindingly obvious to everyone that they all do this. (Or I've somehow missed it) Apologies for the long post, hope someone can help me. Cheers, Ian. |

Cheers, Ian. As far as I'm aware there aren't any PVR's out there that don't have this feature. |

Cheers, Ian. I have just had a test of this (fusion box) If you are rewinding live tv then yes you will see the images very quickly. However if you are recording a programme and watch it delayed, pressing one button takes you straight to the start To record form the epg, select the programme and press green, this will bring up the details of the recording so you can adjust the times if required, press green again to add to the schedule |

Update
Just done another small update of my PVR comparison page (see here ).
I'd be grateful if anyone can help confirm any of the specs/entries with a question mark next to them (especially on the Toppy). |

emsee - just a quick note - the Panasonic list lives again at http://forum.digitalspy.co.uk/board/...d.php?t=205272 if you'd like to put that in your table.

Some points Re the Panasonic.
Recoding Time: Depends on bit rate of broadcasts as it records the bit stream direct, no compression. Box quotes 45hours on average. Repeat Recordings: You can select from Daily Su-Sa, Daily Mo-Sa and Daily Mo-Fr OR Weekly which will record every day at the same time until cancelled. Records Programme Synopsis: Yes Skip X seconds button: No FF/Rev Search Speeds: FF X3, X12, X24, X60, X120 same for RR. VCR Scart output: CVBS and S-Video only. Digital Audio Out: Optical only. And subjectively I'd rate the user interface higher than 4, I'd give it a 2. hope this is of help stephen |

Oh yes, and I'd say that it's silver, not white. cheers, Ian. |
