I have a weird issue, my note 1 wont charge properly.

when the charger is plugged in and the battery icon has the lightening bolt to indicate that it is charging it wont charge, the % is dropping?

I have to have the charger at a certain angle sometimes or it wont charge at all, but even when the charger is connected its still dropping.

I have 3 different compatible chargers and have bought a replacement battery on ebay but am still having no luck.

Can anyone advise please?

Thanks

The common denominator is therefore the USB socket then?

If that's the case, I wonder if there's a Qi wireless charger adapter kit for the N7000 like there is for many more recent phones that do not natively have wireless charging. There's a YouTube video on a DIY solution but if you can tackle that, you could probably fix the USB socket!

I would probably buy a cheap battery charger to see what happens to the battery in the phone when fully charged first. As a worst case scenario you could swap your two batteries around for a bit until you find a fix.

I have bought another cheap battery and am trying to charge this but its got to 74% and wont go any further and is now dropping,

I've done a factory reset and cleaned the charger port with a small brush and a cotton bud with 99% alcohol and still no joy.

Ah, sorry my mistake I didn't know there was such a thing, this may well solve the problem, the batteries are fine, it looks like its the USB charge port as I have 2 batteries, a charger for the battery would do the trick as I could always have a fully charged battery to put in the phone.

I will give it a go thank you.

Out of interest how much would it be to have the port replaced would anyone know this?
