What exactly was he supposed to say on a tea time show , I knew exactly what he meant and took it as complimentary towards Ola who really is all woman.

By the way, I mean lovely to look at sexy yet sweet natured basically a really nice human being. You don't have to look gorgeous to be sexy or sweet natured but it really doesn't hurt.

Ashley does have to be very manly dancing next to her or he can look too effeminate.

He is going to struggle this week dressed as Aladdin as to such a dippy song .

By the way female and not at all offended about Ola being called " that" in that context.

I think you'll find it's used to refer to effeminacy in men and towards gay people more often than not.

Maybe my own opinion got in the way.

I chose to take the 'not everyone is showbiz' thing as a positive comment relating to her demeanour off the dance floor but the repeated 'she's just like that' to mean she can only perform one particular way (he said she gives the same performance on her music videos).

Admittedly, if he had said it only the once, or maybe twice, I too would think he was outright defending, but that 3rd repeat sort of stopped me in my tracks and think "hang on a minute...". It doesn't help that being a comedian, we (me, anyway) look for sarcasm/wit/alternative or hidden meaning and I concede it could have been his honest appraisal and defending of Sophie.

Now you mention it, given that it would appear his 'totemic' comment was genuine (he bagged Susanna and Kevin to win, I think?), you're probably right about his comments concerning Sophie. I was probably giving him too much credit.

It's always good to have panelists who are familiar with the show, know something about the demands of the particular dances involved and can express an honest opinion.
