Improving SCD results show

Instead of the usual boring fillers, endless "here's what they did last night", Lens lens etc. I would love to see them showcase some of the fantastic talent that it out there on the competitive circuit. Juveniles, juniors, amateurs or professionals alike. Bring in couples that can really dance and show what talent we have in the UK. We have many couples that actually lead in the World ( some sponsered by DSI who make SCD costumes), I'm sure there would be viewers that would like to see this, either as a dem or perhaps 2 or 3 couples at once to make a mini comp, all couples on the floor. The floor would be too small for Ballroom but it would work for Latin.Wondered if anyone else would be interested in seeing something this from time to time?

That wpould make a interesting change, especially coming to the stage in the competition where there are less couple left in and where they are clearly treading water

To tell truth although it is mildly interesting when the actual results are read out I'd rather it wasn't there and the results were added onto the main show. Just find the Sunday show too long and full of more cheap padding than a cushion from the pound shop.

I totally agree that we shouldn't even have a results show on s different day, but we do have, and I don;t expect the BBC will change, but who knows. My thoughts for this thread are based on the assumption that we are stuck with it, sadly.
Personally I would rather a 15 min slot later on Saturday night, perhaps opening with a Pro group dance or dem, then just get on with who is eliminated.

Of course we're stuck with it
It gets 9+ million viewers on a Sunday evening.
The Powers-that-be aren't going to ditch that for a 15min slot on a Saturday night that would get nowhere near that - as well as leave a space on Sunday to fill that would struggle to get half that number.

Not to mention leave some viewers complaining that the Saturday Results were on too late for them or their children (as used to be the case as I recall).

As said, I realise that we are stuck with it, I was just interested to hear if other viewers would like to see some competitive dancing or dems instead of the fillers...

As I already now the result from the kind actions of those who provide it in the spoiler thread, (when I can find it amongst all the "personal stuff"), I record the show and just watch the pro show-dance and some of the "back-stage" stuff. The guests are usually uninteresting, so it doesn't take long too get through it. "Len's Lens" is a waste of time.

We do try to post the result at or near the top of the last page once it is known.

It is also the safest thread to discuss the results before general publication, so there will always be extraneous information.

I actually do that too Riley, I opened this thread trying to come up with an idea that would actually encourage people to want to watch the show. The show should be about dancing. Most viewers have no idea of the calibre of talent , of couples competing domestically and internationally each week. If you enjoy dancing,I feel sure this would appeal?

I don't mind people wanting to talk to each other, but there's Twitter for that.

If someone is kind enough to post the result, why not have one thread for "Result discussion" and one for "Result." with no added comment? or at least start the thread with the result before the exchanges begin so it can be easily found by the people for whom it was presumably supplied?

Or is that too simple?

TBH without comments it would drop off the page unless pinned by a mod. Also not safe to discuss results outside as on twitter/FB what you say can be shared widely.

It would if there were no comments added, but I don't think people could resist. But if the result were the first post on a thread, it would then stay near the top of the board and who went out could be found with one "click."
