Anya looks gorgeous.

Poor Ola - the knee brace is very visible with those harem pants.

Wonder who the people dressed as zebra behind Iveta are?!!”

I'm glad you like Sophie's dress...guess she is channelling the girl, Liesl, rather than the woman. Personally, I was hoping to be able to look at their costumes and see Brendan and Sophie as the Captain and Maria. As it is, they aren't recognisable as any musical pairing.

I think Ola's knee support will come off for the actual performance. Though I said the same about Patrick's wrist splint, so maybe not.

I assume the people behind Mark and Iveta are backing dancers.

In Spain and Italy and Latin America it is rude to show bare calf. Socks have to be knee length - as are all my socks since an ex chucked out my shorter than regulations socks.

So it is surprising that Venezuelan Karen has not admonished Kevin for that - unless she has gone native.

[Oh I can just imagine a Ford Cortina with Kevin and Karen emblazoned on a green strip on the windscreen]

Nice broken wrist (as Craig would say) Kevin has in that picture too.

*cough* Susanna samba, Sophie cha cha, Patrick VW *cough*

There have been a few lame ones in the "pimp slot" this year.

Re the comment about Kevins "broken wrists" , actually I was taught to style my hands in exactly the same way, for Ballroom and Latin. Can imagine its different for stage shows etc.

The bias towards Susanna and Kevin in the music, costumes and running order is just farcical now. And I like Susanna and Kevin, and I don't think they need this kind of rubbish, but no way is it a coincidence. It's just happening too often. On musicals night, to get the only song coming from a Gene Kelly and Fred Astaire musical, the most vote winning kind of music to dance to, arguably the only song that was written to be danced to by non-cartoons apart from Abbey's disco music. And arguably the best costume AGAIN and the best slot AGAIN. They might as well just give them the glitterball and stop messing about.

I wouldn't know, but they are exactly the broken shape that Craig criticised on one of the male celebs one week (Ashley?).

Hopefully Craig has been put right if it is a correct Ballroom placement. I know he is a 'performance' judge, but it would still be appalling if he deducted marks due to his own lack of knowledge regarding correct technique.

Artem needs to use a clothes brush on that jacket, I think the studio cats been sleeping on it.

Re Kevins wrists, I'm pretty sure he knows he is doing and hasn't got it wrong. He has been dancing very successfully all his life. As said, I was, and indeed my male partner, was taught this way. Craigs expertise is in shows etc, where I expect it may be slightly different.

hands on Kevin in the pic are the correct ballroom placement or we have been teaching it wrong - and what he was criticising Ashley for was not the same - but they often get ballroom/latin tecnique wrong makes me cringe

Hmm, though when you compare Artem's finishing hand-line to Kevin's, it does make you wonder. I prefer the look of Artem's wrist, but shall be watching all the pros extra closely this week

Are they broken or limp? Such a wrist looks different on a man and a woman.

I have no idea what is right and wrong in Ballroom and Latin but hope he doesn't also stick his pinky out when holding a cup of espresso in Grimsby ...

FWIW I prefer the look of the wrists of the other bloke in the picture. And also Susanna's - but she is female so not the same thing.

I think that looks worse as a non Ballroom / Latin dancer. I'd refuse to copy both Kevin and Artem on their wrist action.
