On musicals night, to get the only song coming from a Gene Kelly and Fred Astaire musical, the most vote winning kind of music to dance to, arguably the only song that was written to be danced to by non-cartoons apart from Abbey's disco music. And arguably the best costume AGAIN and the best slot AGAIN. They might as well just give them the glitterball and stop messing about.”

Best costume are you kidding??? yes the music is appropriate for the dance and theme - but last week she went first with terrible music and lousy costume - so swings and roundabouts

Mark's is everything I feared it would be. What a shame he isn't going out on something like his Waltz or his Salsa. Ashley has been scuppered as well. Susanna, on the other hand, gets all the breaks.

Opening the show is second to closing the show. I too think Susanna has the best frock, from what we can see in the pics anyway

I'm not bothered that she is closing, by the way, just saying.

ETA: Am I the only one to think Mark looks darn cute?

Thanks for the confirmation, Bendy.
Kevin is a far, far more experienced dancer / competitor than Artem, who was mentioned in a previous thread. Kevin was a World Champion and has been a very successful dancer and showdancer all his life. I would most certainly look to Kevin to see correct technique and styling, over some of the others.

I have no idea what is right and wrong in Ballroom and Latin but hope he doesn't also stick his pinky out when holding a cup of espresso in Grimsby ...

FWIW I prefer the look of the wrists of the other bloke in the picture. And also Susanna's - but she is female so not the same thing.”

Just had a look for similar poses and found this one of Fiona and Anton. No broken wrists on the 'king of ballroom'

It is stunning and the colour really suits her.

Yaay, at last His whiskery face looks a little like dimples, so cute.

Anyone would think it is a surprise he was outfitted as a lion - we had tons of warning - and he looks much better than the hooded onesie I imagined him in

Only king in the eyes of the BbC and some SCD viewers nowhere else and again repeat nothing wrong with Kevs hands and pics are from different angles

Well, OK, you got me I was thinking of the paso at Blackpool, and the waltz before it - I seem to have wiped last week from my memory. I can't remember their cha cha music, though I thought her gold outfit was all right. But I stand by my feeling that the song and look she's been given this week - same as Blackpool - are massively more likely to be vote-winning than everyone else's, regardless of the detail of the dancing.

Which it why I put it in quote marks bendy. I've never called him king of anything.

I do think Kevin's finish looks ugly as hell though, proper or not. Sorry

Cha cha music was ok but not great and as for the dress longer would have been so much better and not IMO did just not suit Susanna

So you think that the producers wanted Siusannah's worst dance to stick in the minds of the viewers?

Or maybe the conspiracy theories around this are simple conspiracy theories. And that supposedly coveted and gifted last slot has no real advantage.

Nothing more, nothing less.

Susanna's dress last week was far to young/short for her, more suited to Abbey perhaps, in my opinion. Had they had made a longer or even knee length version, it would have looked classier ( and hidden lack of good leg work)

Doesn't really matter if it is the worst dance or not. It is the last dance so gets remembered.

So on that basis (one which has yet to be proven other than being an opinion) Susannah cannot be "the chosen one" as some seem to believe as last week's position would have hurt her chances.

Can't have it both ways.

She may not be dancing tonight, but lovely frock.

Plus, anyone know the sailor between Aljaz and Kevin?

Would look too obvious if she were on last or near last too often.

It is odd that apart from when she goes first she is otherwise in the second half somewhere.

IIRC they did this a lot with Ms W and Russell.

Patrick Helm, I think, one of the dancers partnering Kristina tonight

Ah, nothing like propping up a conspiracy theory eh .... even if the facts or logic don't always support that theory.

Yep, I've found that it's pointless trying to argue with conspiracy theorists - they only seek a more entrenched position.
