I use more than 20GB monthly and know others that do too. I don't see this as the better deal..

Thine, I agree, threes 3G coverage is excellent and on par with EE because as you know they share MBNL. However if we are talking about total absolute coverage voice only. I would want to be with either O2 or Vodafone (legacy) networks if my life depended on it, then EE, no way 3. I had three last year, I work in Central London, couldn't get a signal inside lots of buildings.

If you are using in excess of 20GB data a month. Then Three do not want you as a customer - trust me. Because if every customer used a 1/4 of what you were using Three wouldn't be able to offer unlimited data. Why don't you just get home broadband. Spoils it for everyone

In my opinion you are abusing the system, in all honesty and please don't take this the wrong way but people like you will bring an end it unlimited data. Using up to about 20GB on netflix, sky go, spotify, you tube, etc etc is fine but using three as a home mobile service is wrong. It's not meant for that.

Thine, out of interest what's your opinion on people rippling the you know what out of data on three, are you ok with it ? Do you agree that it could bring the end to unlimited data, if three don't put some kind of FUP in to place on 4G?

That's like saying the guy at the All you can eat buffet is abusing the system by having three plates rather than 2 which is everyone else that night had. Three's trafficsense system will be changed later when 4G is rolling out to manage the network more efficiently. To answer your other post, sure i post about Three a lot but that's because i'm on that network with my personal phone. I do think you're downplaying Three a lot here by comparing them to a budget supermarket offering or whatever. They are without a doubt quite a premium network now. Yes Three may not have deals with deezer or sky sports but they do offer other perks. Like i said before, EE do offer a lot and there is value in what they offer, hence the higher price. But for the average user then Three is a much more attractive network to be on. |

I definitely think Sky Platinum has a feeling that O2 and Vodafone as the best networks and that Three is the Tesco Value, however I see O2 and Vodafone as last gen networks currently, based around calls and texts, limited data offering poor speeds and performance outside of 4G areas and generally not as competitive on things like 'like home'. I see them as stale networks that have done well from their legacy, O2 particularly out of Apple. Less than 50% of O2's customers even own a smartphone!
However we're all allowed our opinions. |

I think a lot of people will disagree with this. If Three are offering a package then customers should be allowed to use it how they want as long as they adhere to the terms and conditions. Three already have traffic management systems in place and they know what they're offering so by no means is anyone abusing the system by just using over 20GB in a month. Sure, if they break T&C or use it for business or as a 24/7 download device then that is just stupid and against T&C and three can cut them off. But using the package as it is advertised is fine. Plus why do EE offer 50GB packages if anything over 20GB is considered an abuse of the system?

Same ones you mentioned: Feel at home and free 4G upgrade, and also recommend a friend scheme and stuff like that.

They are not perks. They are part of your network service. Three offer no perks.

Well not really. O2 and Voda charge for international roaming. EE have roaming packages for those that pay extra. Three have roaming for free in 11 countries for ALL customers. That's a perk. Free 4G is also a perk, every 3 customer will get 4G on their SIM regardless if they have a 4G phone or not. No other network does that. Recommend a friend is also a perk scheme.

And yes, 4G is free for all customers. No extra price increase. Where as for example on T-Mobile and Orange you have to upgrade to a new EE plan of higher value to get 4G on your phone. Same with O2 and Voda. |

Same with O2 and Voda. Difference between £41 and £15 is. £26 per month. X 24 months is £624 plus. £99 for phone total cost for the phone of £723. Really bad value. If you go with the one plan always makes sense to buy handset sim free and go for the one plan on sim only basis |

Three actually are disproportionately expensive on pay monthly phone contracts. Look at the one plan. It's £15 per month sim only but £41 per month on a two year monthly contract plus £99.

It works out better for me and probably would for about 80% of people. Contracts are for those who can't afford/don't want to pay up front and would rather pay a monthly fee for the airtime and handset. However, you've chosen Three's most expensive deal there. Their other phone deals (example I gave before was S4 Mini) are better than EE and other networks and overall are better value for money. Yes EE have more 4G coverage and perks and maybe worth the money for people who want to pay that bit more for those perks. |

Fair comment Jabba
The free 4G on three is a great proposition and the unlimited data is something you can't find elsewhere. EE on the other hand already have a nationwide 4G network with great speeds and data allowances as well as other perks and that's something that people will find value in and will be wiling to pay more for. |

Ideally get an interest free credit card if you can't afford the amount in one go then snd go one plan sim only. Never buy the one plan monthly 2 year contract

Jabba, you are a 3 fanboy. 20 GB data to 99 percent of customers would be unlimited
3 have told me there is no cap on the One Plan for internet and tethering is free. However , they've mis-sold me my last 2 phones so I'm looking to change next time just from principle. But are there any providers apart from Three who include tethering in their deals rather than as an add on? As I'm a Virgin Media customer I was looking to take on a phone with them but tethering not included in their Ultimate Plans |

I've been with Three for 9 years .
Every time I change my phone I look to other providers but for a combination of minutes , texts and internet there's no other network that comes close on price . My current Blackberry was cheaper on 3 than any others and tethering was included which was an important part of the deal. Last time round I really wanted to leave 3 but money talks and no other networks could match it . O2 were a joke which is why my son ended his 02 deal and went to 3 even though when he last used them he found their CS bad enough to leave |
