None of which alters your original nonsense that there were no great lyricists outside Hip Hop. It's arguable there aren't that many great lyricists in Hip Hop!

(Admittedly the subject of this thread, Adele, isn't Hip Hop or a great lyricist.)”

But I would say she is a great storyteller with the ability to bring on some catchy phrases and here she is similar to Phill Collins, imo.

I said that great lyricists are rare. I also said that there aren't many great lyricists in Hip-Hop.

Adele is not a great lyricist but she puts emotion to her music which is all I ask.

'Apart from the legendary Hip-Hop artists, there are very rarely any great lyricists in other genres. Not really concerned if her music is considered "bland". Since even great "soul" artists have crappy lyrics compared to Hip-Hop legends.'

What you actually said...a bit of revisionism there!
Read back it's doesn't actually make a whole lot of sense.

The pop world isn't coming down with great lyricists but there's a lot more than you suggest and the majority are outside the Hip-Hop genre.

She's better than Phil Collins and I do like the witticisms in her work. I bought 21 like millions of others but I don't listen to it any more.

Quote was in page 2 as a response to someone quoting my first Hip-Hop comment.
