Help with sound setup please....
I have a 42" LG Smart TV, an LG BH6220S Home Cinema System and a TalkTalk STB.
Currently I have it set up with an optical cable from the TalkTalk STB to the TV. Whilst this works, for example it can be a pain if I want to watch the actual TV as I need to change the settings. I'm also pretty sure that I am not getting the best from it. Surely on this modern equipment I should be able to use HDMI for sound and do away with the optical cable? How would be best to connect? Any help appreciated

The sound system looks to have 1x analogue and 1x digital input, no HDMI input, depending on what audio outputs your TV has connect the sound system to the TV using one of these.
Your stb should connect directly to the TV, this way, when you switch the sound system on and select that input source button, the audio will come through for what ever you are watching, TV/stb. Edit... Alternatively, connect optical from stb to sound system then if the TV has analogue outputs (phono red/white) connect these to analogue inputs on the sound system. |

As mentioned above the optical cable should be going from the TV to the Home Cinema. That will give you audio from whatever you are watching on the TV, be it the built in tuner or the external STB |
