Trying to set up a community pay as you go deal calculator.
Hi,
My name is Matt and I'm trying to setup a community website in order to help people calculate the best deals if they are on pay as you go. My aim is to make something that is unbiased with the best interests of the customer in mind, not the big companies! I have made a start already. I have written a website from scratch, bought a domain name and set up some hosting and added some of the deals I already know about. The site can be found at: www.PAYGdeal.co.uk However I really need help from people to find the best deals so that everyone can benefit from them! Also, if anyone has facebook, google plus or twitter I would be really grateful if you could like it, +1 it and tweet it so that people can benefit from this. Or if you don't, pass it on by email or any other method you can think of! There is also a data calculator I have written and a comments section on the site. As I said, I really want to build something that lots of people are contributing towards since I won't be able to make something half as good by myself! Thanks, Matt! |

I would appreciate and feedback, positive or negative!
I've only been programming a couple of months now so I realise it might not be perfect, but it seems to function properly - any testing would be welcomed as well! |

Sorry, that wasn't how I meant it at all.
I wasn't complaining, I was just adding in something I thought of after I had submitted my first post. Apologies if that's what it seemed like, Matt. |

It's a great site by the way.
How are you going to keep the information up to date and accurate, it is automatically pulled from official sources or do you have to input it yourself manually? |

Thanks Scott,
At the moment it is done manually since there are no automatic feeds for these deals and companies websites change which would make it unreliable. A lot of the deals are static and so won't need to be updated. I'm hoping to kind of get a bit of a community of people behind this, so that if a deal goes away, they let me know (obviously I will look out myself as well!) and then I can update it straight away. As for new deals, again, I will watch out for them, but a lot I hope will come from other people! I can do the technical but by myself, but I need other peoples contributions as well! Cheers, Matt. |

Good idea.
I set up a SIM Only guide over on HUKD and MSE which you can find here. It's a spreadsheet run by me which has a list of the best SIM Only deals and mentions some good PAYG deals as well. http://www.hotukdeals.com/deals/best...thread-1623625 |

Good idea. Thanks, I will take a look at that thread in the evening when I have a bit more time!I set up a SIM Only guide over on HUKD and MSE which you can find here. Great stuff I think OP Thanks! Well I originally started designing it because I was finding it so difficult to work out which would be the best tariff for me. Then after I had set up all the maths I thought might as well try and help out some other people as well! The words at the end are to help with search engine optimisation. I don't really expect most people will look at them - but I will try and make them a little more concise.Maybe try and trim down the amount of words at the end. But you're on the side of the consumer which is good news Thanks guys! Matt. |

That looks to be a useful resource. I will add a link to it from my PAYG tariffs site, which I've run for over 5 years now. It is restricted to pure PAYG, so there is only a mention of add ons.
http://petef.22web.org/payg.html There are quite a few gaps in your listings. You should at least add the other operators with the best rates: Family, Kontakt, Simfiniti, Talk Home, Talkmobile, White. |

Yes, my site very much focuses on the add-ons because they genuinely do need calculating. Your site is very good for the pure PAYG tariffs because you can simply and quickly look for the green
