Seems to have stalled at the 50 mark on the iTunes chart and sales appear to be on the decline.

Very disappointed, I thought this was Leona's best chance of a hit song in a long while

Promotion doesn't start till next week. Radio play is building up quickly, so this time next week it could be promoted a lot, heavily played on radio and might slide up the charts nicely.

Also note that her album is out tomorrow, and when an album is out the next day people tend to just wait for the album.

It's still early, plus it looks like her team aren't expecting it to do big things this week anyway, hence why all the promo in the UK starts next week, closer to Christmas.

Radio have only just got on board, BBC Radio 2 and Heart have playlisted it, BBC Radio 1 made it their song of the day today and the album is also BBC Radio 2's 'Album Of The Week'. Before this week it was too early for it to be played on Radio, so people don't know about it.

Next week is when it all kicks off and what with radio play rising and promo starting, it should do better.

Edit: I think promo was has been purposely held off until next week due to the song not being known yet, it is better to do promo of a song that has got good radio play and people are familiar with, than singing it when it is relatively unknown. Radio play is growing really fast for it over the last two or three days, so it should definitely peak in its later weeks, not its first.

It's practically an On Air/On Sale release. Airplay only started a few days ago and the video was only released yesterday. Plus, it's a Christmas single. It'll pick up as we get closer to Christmas and her promotion for the song will start next week.

Campaign for Christmas is mostly about the album. If they really wanted single to perform better they would probably release it a week before the album and not one day before the album.

The single and album is doing very well. The album has charted in a numerous amount of iTunes Charts internationally already and that's just on pre-orders with no major promotion... Next week she has lots of performances install, this will send both the single and album straight up the charts... Watch this space....

Ok feeling slightly more optimistic after that.

glasshearts: I noticed that after I'd written the message. I think the site had broken when I checked before!

Yes I don't see the point in releasing the single a day before. But it seems like the album is being released Worldwide on the same date, and why has the UK got such a late release date. Leona is UK born and bread and it has been release everywhere before here. It looks like the timing was better thought out abroad.

I hope she has got lots of promo lined up and not just XFactor, she needs to be on the likes of Alan Carr, Graham Norton, Jonathan Ross, Paul O'Grady, Daybreak/This Morning, Loose Women. Xmas TOTP, in addition to the radio stations.

I know unlike most XFactor stars (One Direction excluded) she has to plug her album internationally, but in the past they've been guilty of just doing one XFactor promo and hoping that does the job.

She just can't sell anymore without yearly xfactor performance. So wait for this

It's sad how she has to rely on XF performances every year. It was the same last year this time..I hope this climbs and ends up an Xmas classic. It really is a great xmas song.

Unfortunately radio won't even think about playing Xmas songs until Dec 1st no matter how good it is.

Its a really compressed timeframe for getting sales. Doesn't make any difference for those with big fanbases, but her core base has shrunk quite severely due to really poor single choices. So she is effectively having to start from scratch.

Her strength is more in album sales than singles these days. Having said that I don't like the album (I hate Christmas and Christmas records) so I won't be buying the album or the single.

I think they've wasted their time, I love the idea of a Phil Spectre inspired album, but why a Christmas one that has such a limited shelf life? I'm guessing it was so she could perform on the X-Factor again, something that she really should have moved away from.

But what is done is done, I hope the album is a success but fear it will struggle against all the other musical 'cheese' that turns up in the charts at this time of year.

they should bring back the stocks for artists who release Christmas albums - they can just leave Buble in them permanently. They're the last throw of the dice for a recording artist, the career endgame, and Susan Boyle , Mary J Bilge and Leona Lewis have just played theirs.

there's nowhere for a musician or singer to go after a Christmas album other than another the following year.

Erh what about Mariah, Xtina and Celine who all had massive selling albums after their xmas album?

Well Radio 2 put it straight on the B-List, and other stations including Heart have play listed it and this was BEFORE December. As soon as we got to December 1st it was Radio 1's track of the day. It's almost like radio can't wait to play OMS

That's just rubbish. Mariah, Xtina etc. Plus Michael Buble had a number 1 album this year and that's after his successful Christmas album.

Down to no50 on iTunes now, but on the plus side the album is at no6, which at this time of the year will mean big sales! and two of the albums above her are compilation albums from NOW which can't chart, so she's in the top5 in the main album chart so far

Actually itunes is not that relevant for album sales and especially during this time of the year. Her album was only #17 in yesterday midweeks.

She is up to 5 now on Itunes, I don't expect big sales this week, but I am still pleased with how it is doing considering it has had no real promo and Leona's last album flopped.
