9200T Recorded Programmes Display Problem
DUFCFan

Hopefully someone might be able to help, I've got a 7 year old Humax PVR9200T, running software version 1.00.23 and recently there's been a problem with the Recorded Programme display: recorded programmes show twice, or sometimes don't display at all (although they often appear when you choose another recorded programme) and when you're recording a programme it often shows the Red R1 display against an old recording. I've tried a power reset (unplugging at mains) and also a reset to defaults and neither have solved the problem.

I wondered if anybody else has experienced or heard about a similar problem? Is the only option to try to Format the HD? I'd obviously prefer not to have to do that, as that will erase recordings?

This is a very well known problem. The file system has become corrupted. As you speculate the only fix is to format the disk. If you are prepared to open the box and connect the disk to a PC then it it should be possible to download some of the programs and restore them after the format using humaxrw. Be aware that if you do nothing then the next step will be that the list of recorded programs will become blank.

It looks like file corruption on the hard disk is your problem and a format will cure it but will also delete all your recordings. There is a way to save your recordings but Martin Liddle knows much more about it than I do, hopefully he will be along shortly.

EDIT: I post and there he is.

Thanks for the replies, I really appreciate the help.

To be honest I've nothing taped that is massively important (and won't be repeated on Film 4 soon enough...), so will probably just go ahead and reformat the Hard Drive.

I'll report back if there are any further problems.

Thanks again.
