Britney Jean Out Now in The UK

Britney Spears is back with her 8th studio album 'Britney Jean' which is released today here in the UK. Featuring the hit single Work Bitch and the brand new heartfelt mid-tempo ballad Perfume.

Britney Jean is available in two versions: standard album 10 tracks) and the deluxe version (14 tracks). You pick which one you prefer but for me it's a no brainer.....deluxe all the way!

Make sure you purchase Britney Jean either in store or online, just make sure you grab your copy, it's a great album full of both really fun and catchy numbers but also some truly beautiful, heartfelt song....a little bit of everything.

Britney Jean is out NOW!!

Yes, Tesco will definitely be stocking it. I think I'll stick to my regular supplier.... HMV!

Britney Jean is already sitting at #5 on the official UK iTunes album chart will is definitey an encouraging start seeing as it's only been made available to purchase in the last couple of hours!

I have the deluxe edition cd ordered from Amazon. I'm listening to it on Napster at the moment though and have to say I'm very disappointed with it. I really love the opening 3 tracks, (Alien, Work Bitch and Perfume) but then the following 4 tracks (It Should Be Easy, Tik Tik Boom, Body Ache and Till It's Gone) I can't stand! Horrible, dull, generic, dance tripe! I hate that repetitive, tuneless stuff!

Then comes Passenger, I really like this one. It's different and Britney's vocals are great on it. But then it's followed by (imo) one of the worst songs ever, Chillin' With You! Soooo boring and the awful grammar and stupid pronounciation "witchoo" instead of " with you" - I hate that ridiculous pronounciation with a passion, it sounds so dumb and irritating! Urgh!

The following 3 songs (Don't Cry, Brightest Morning Star, Hold On Tight) are all quite pleasant ballads but (for the moment at least) are just "in one ear and out the other" forgettable to me. Maybe they'll grow on me, I don't know.

Now That I Found You I wouldn't have minded so much if it wasn't for the generic dance backing that you hear on a million other songs. That whole sound is so dated already!

Finally the Perfume remix seems a pointless end to the album and I don't think it improves the song one bit. I much prefer the original version.

So basically I love the first 3 songs and Passenger. Don't Cry, Brightest Morning Star and Hold On Tight sound "ok" and the rest I can't stand! I'm still glad I've ordered the album for those 4 great songs I love (I always seem to buy every Britney release anyway, regardless) but to say I'm disappointed with this new album is an understatement!! Lol, ah well, maybe I'll prefer her next album. I miss the likes of In The Zone, Blackout and Circus though. Even Femme Fatale is far better than this new album, imo, and that had been my least favourite Britney album - until now!

After being made available to purchase just 24 hours ago, Britney Jean has stormed the iTunes UK album chart and is currently the NUMBER 1 album by any artist' and overall #3 sitting behind 2 compilation albums.

Okay it's early days yet but Britney has definitely gotten off to a flying start, I hope the momentum can keep going? I think Britney Jean doing well is a testament to how good the album is.

Make sure YOU grab your copy this week!

Well thank you, I try my best!

Agreed I think Britney Jean is definitely a grower, there's just more depth and layers to it compared to some of her other work.

What would you say are your most favourite songs from the entire album?

I think this album is a lot more than meets the eye, we were told to expect Blackout 2.0 and her most personal album ever, Blackout 2.0? Nope, insanely personal? Not really. THAT is why people are disappointed, however, it is still a great pop album with many layers and undertones so I think like all her other albums this one will be on repeat for quite some time.

I am completely addicted to 'Alien'. I was late to work so I could sync the album to my iPod, missed my bus but I was ok with that because I got the listen to it on repeat en route. So good!
