One of the true greats of our time...

Incredible singer! The way in which female opera singers sang was changed forever by Callas, I just wish she had recorded some arias in English so that I could fully enjoy them beyond just her vocals.

Personally I prefer arias in their original language even if I don't understand it, I just go by reading the synopsis, English translations and subtitles if available...

That said most the channels/feeds I watch have French subtitles so they aren't quite as helpful as they could be

If anyone does want opera in English then the English National Opera perform nearly everything in English.

The thing I find unbelievable about Callas is how she could sing everything! From Puccini and Mozart to the really heavy stuff of Wagner, and incredibly versatile voice, and extremely distinct too. She was one of a kind, such a beauty!
