Remote control like a tv for windows surface pro tablet?
.... Does such thing exist at all? A remote control like a tv for the windows surface pro tablet. I see you can get such things on amazon but they only seem to be compatble with certain laptop/tablets etc. it would be handy to have one for when watching movies on my tablet

You mean a physical remote control?! Nope, there is no IR receiver on most tablets.
You can possibly rig up something so you can remote control it through wifi with e.g. a smartphone |

As a Surface Pro is basically a full featured computer, then surely something like a media center remote would work with it? I believe it even has a full size USB port, so you wouldn't even need an adaptor.
Not sure why you would want a remote control though? A tablet is kind of a remote in itself. |

If you have an Android phone, there's http://www.unifiedremote.com/ which lets you control your laptop with your phone. Has special overlays for movie playback, youtube, etc

It's for when I'm watching movies so instead of getting up to pause and rewind I just use a remote like I would for a DVD on the tv. As I move the laptop away from my lap when watching tv shows and movies and put by tv so it's far away from me like a tv

How far away is your tablet? It's not a huge screen! It can't be that far to reach over and hit pause (and exercise is good for you!).
But basically anything that would work with an ordinary PC should work with the Surface Pro, including a wireless keyboard and mouse combination. (you can get mini ones like this, for example) |

I think he means he connects it via HDMI to the telly, then settles back on the sofa, leaving the tablet by the TV?
