*** Calling All Luke Friend Fans ***
Hey Everyone.
Okay so basically, I never really do this for anyone in X Factor or any other competition for that matter but If I ever do its usually because I feel strongly about it. ![]() This is probably a small time attempt but it doesn't mean we can't make it anyway to see if we can make our difference. But its pretty much Go Big or Go Home time for all contestants in X Factor and if you truly are a fan of Luke Friend...This Weekend IS the time to start Voting. First of all as I have stated before, I originally thought Luke Friend was forgettable and wouldn't even make the live shows. I also admit to be annoyed he did make live shows with the equally baffling Sam Callahan & Nicholas McDonald when Paul Akister didn't make the live shows. At best at the time I thought he was just there to make up numbers. NEVER before watching the X Factor have I been so happy to be wrong. In fact I think it is a HUGE testament to him that despite not being an initial favourite he has grabbed hold of so many peoples attention so late on in this years show ![]() This is in no way to take a bash at Sam Bailey, Nicholas McDonald or Rough Copy but this is just praise for the person I believe deserves the win. On several occasions for me Luke Friend has pulled out "Performance of the Week" with "Kiss From A Rose" (Which I normally hate people covering), "Play That Funky Music White Boy" (Which Im not usually overly keen on) and "Skinny Love" (which too many people usually destroy on there cover). All of these songs are so incredibly different and he still smashed every single one of them. Then as ive stated before his save me song of "Run" by Snow Patrol was performance of The Series. That was Raw Emotion which a lot of artists (Not just X Factor Contestants) are getting too afraid to show these days because it might not be "cool" He hasn't achieved this by just singing well though...he is showing to me his creative side and while he may not have the best voice he is proving himself to be the Best Artist. ![]() Perhaps most impressively he is doing this with his versatility. Luke has sang New Wave, Folk Rock, Soul, Funk, Rock, Jazz, Pop & Indie. This goes against the Urban dominated Charts of today and against the usual "Power Ballad" singers that find success on X Factor. He hasthe style of music he likes, stays true to it and still finds a way to be the memorable part of the show and has improved week by week. Despite all of this we do need to be realistic. Luke has unfortunately been in the bottom 2 twice. However this does not mean he is defeated. While I have never used James Arthur a good example but he became the first winner last year to be in the bottom 2 and still win. He broke the mold...lets see if we can break it even further. Let's vote for him to make it to the Final and win. If you appreciate him as a contestant now is the time. Even if we can't get him the actual citory, lets give him the experience he deserves and get him to the Final. ![]() Let him return to his hometown and get his hero's welcome Next Week in the run up to the final. Let him play Wembley & Duet with one of the all time great musicians ![]() For those who don't agree with me then that's fine...but for the people who think he has done well enough to win this show and earn that exerience...lets show him the appreciation by voting for him now. Let's try and keep this thread frequent in the hope of building more support for him and if he does see it let him know people support him that much. VOTE LUKE ![]() ![]() ![]() Nathan |

Luke is average and the only reason people would vote for him is because for some reason they have an aversion to Sam Winning and he's the only male who stands a chance against her.

If this was on Facebook I would like this
If this was on Twitter I would retweet this If this was on Instagram I would heart this THIS POST SPEAKS THE TRUTH Yes, Sam and Nicholas are good singers but I could not bear their concerts. One hour of ballads? Um no thanks Rough Copy are unique but they're nothing like Luke. He is the underdog of the competition. He reminds me of Ben Howard/Marcus Mumford and we need more of these people in the charts. The way he changes the songs to be oh so him proves he is a true artist. He may not win but he will have so much success GET HIM TO THE FINALS! |

I always find it really hard to understand how people find it difficult to accept that others have different tastes. |

Voted the last two weeks, every intention of doing it again. He's in the top 2 in all the polls but he came 4/5 in the actual votes so he really does need them. I just can't believe they're actually doing a bottom 2 in the semi's, that's just wrong, the judges don't decide who gets the last place in the final, we do. If he comes 3rd in the voting this week, he'll come 4th because they won't send him through to the finals after being in the bottom 2 3 times, he really needs the votes.

VOTE LUKE ![]() ![]() ![]() Nathan I've been a fan of Luke right from the auditions and have to admit that he is the only act that I have ever bothered to vote for on X Factor. No idea what he did to deserve to be in the bottom 2 again as he was outstanding and that sing off performance on Sunday was arguably the best and most passionate performance I have seen from any X Factor contestant. He seems to have a lot of support on here so I am with 'RabidWolverine1' on this and totally agree that if we really like Luke then lets all get voting for him at the weekend and get him to the final. My honest opinion is that thanks to the Scottish vote,Nicolas is going to win it(not deservedly) but anything could happen on the night of the final....the British public may finally see sense and actually vote for Luke as opposed to another Jane Mcdonald and another Leon Jackson......LUKE FANS PLEASE GET VOTING FOR HIM ON SATURDAY!!!! |

Definitely intend on voting for Luke. If there's any justice left in the world, he'll make it to the final and win the whole thing.

Luke is my favourite and I really want him to make the final. Less bothered about him winning XF - it can be a poisoned chalice.

I wasn't the one who brought her up anyway, I was merely responding to a ridiculous post made about her...

I would gladly sit through a Sam bailey Concert You talk up thread about 'people having an aversion to Sam Bailey winning' I disagree, in fact your the one who seems to have an aversion to any form of Luke support. I like Sam, but Luke just has 'it' he gets to the soul of the song and performs the hell out of any song he is given. Sam for me emotes well on the ballads, but her tone isn't to my liking. A bit like Nicholas they are good karoke singers, but they never put their stamp on the songs. When Luke takes on a song he makes it his own, his tone, style and the way he sings is unique to him - if the radio came on you would know it was Luke singing as he is so distinctive. To me Sam and Nicholas both have good voices but aren't distinctive enough and whilst are good don't have 'it'. For Me Luke is the revelation of the series; pre lives I thought he was utter fodder... as the OP says, how wrong was I? After Let Her Go (a song I don't even like) I thought he was amazing and is the only act to grow every week and the huge step up he took on Saturday and heck Sunday's sing off was amazing. I hope that we get a shock on the weekend and Luke goes through to the final automatically. Really he is the only one to even try each wee and his sing off performance where he just goes for it was just brilliant - an act really fighting for his position in the competition. Luke may not win, however I don't think i've seen act pick up such huge support across one weekend and put themselves right back in contention again. |
